## Description

The Dubois County Community Foundation is seeking an accomplished, strategic, and community-minded leader to serve as its next Executive Director. With approximately $100 million in charitable assets, the Foundation plays an important role in strengthening Dubois County and its communities through philanthropy, partnerships, grantmaking, and thoughtful stewardship of charitable resources.

The Executive Director will serve as the Foundation's chief executive, community ambassador, relationship builder, and strategic leader. Working with an engaged Board of Directors and a dedicated staff, the new leader will guide strategy, strengthen community and donor relationships, grow charitable assets, develop organizational capacity, and ensure strong financial and operational stewardship.

Key Priorities

-   Translate the Foundation's mission and strategic plan into impactful results.
-   Build and maintain trusted relationships with staff, donors, fundholders, nonprofits, professional advisors, business and civic leaders, and community partners.
-   Grow charitable assets through donor development, stewardship, planned giving, and new philanthropic opportunities.
-   Partner effectively with the Board on strategy, governance, policy, and long-range planning.
-   Understand emerging community needs and identify opportunities for the Foundation to provide leadership and impact.
-   Ensure sound financial, investment, operational, legal, and organizational stewardship.

## Requirements

The successful candidate is a proven leader with strong strategic thinking, organizational leadership, and relationship-building skills who embraces and models the Foundation’s core values. They demonstrate integrity, accountability, transparency, humility, and professionalism.      

Key leadership competencies include:    

-   Executive-level leadership and organizational management experience
-   Community relationship building and stewardship      
-   Strategic thinking and the ability to turn vision into action
-   Experience leading, developing, engaging and motivating staff
-   Donor development, client relationship, or comparable relationship-management experience
-   Nonprofit, foundation, philanthropic, financial, investment, or related business acumen
-   Experience working effectively with a governing board
-   Excellent communication and public-speaking skills
-   Commitment to fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, positive impact, and innovation

Foundation/nonprofit experience is valuable, but is not required. Exceptional candidates may come from other relevant leadership backgrounds.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree and at least ten years of relevant professional experience, or an advanced degree and at least five years of relevant professional experience.

This is a full-time, salaried position reporting to the Board of Directors and based on-site in Jasper, Indiana. Relocation to the area is required. The Foundation offers a competitive executive compensation and benefits package appropriate for the scope and responsibilities of the position.
