## Description

**People helping people. It's more than a philosophy. It's what we do.**

At Education First Credit Union (EFCU), we believe financial well-being creates opportunities, strengthens families, and builds stronger communities. That's why our mission is to **enhance our members' financial position through education, quality service, and value-minded products.**

Founded in 1936 by a small group of Columbus City School teachers, EFCU was built on the belief that people are stronger when they help one another. Nearly 90 years later, that belief continues to shape who we are and how we serve.

As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we're different from traditional banks. Our focus is on people, not shareholders. We believe in building relationships, providing financial education, and helping our members make informed financial decisions. We're proud of our roots in education and our continued commitment to the schools, individuals, and communities we serve.

We're looking for someone who shares that passion for people, enjoys making connections, and sees the value in bringing opportunities to others.

**If you believe in building relationships that matter, strengthening communities, and helping people discover the value of credit unions, we'd love to meet you!**

**The role: Connecting people, building partnerships, creating opportunities**

As a Senior Member Development Lead, you'll be an ambassador for EFCU and the credit union philosophy in the communities we serve. You'll help introduce individuals and organizations to the benefits of credit union membership while building meaningful partnerships that support our mission.

This role goes beyond traditional business development. You'll spend your time connecting with school leaders, community organizations, prospective members, and existing members to understand their needs and identify opportunities to make a difference.

From coordinating financial wellness presentations and representing EFCU at community events to developing long-term partnerships and encouraging membership growth, your work will help more people experience the value of being part of a credit union.

You'll also work closely with teammates across EFCU, because creating a positive member experience doesn't happen in one department. It takes all of us working together.

- Position has been posted internally and externally.
- 20-minute conversation with HR
- 60-minute in person conversation with panel interview
- Job offer

**What makes this opportunity unique?** Approximately 80% of your time will be spent out in the community building relationships and representing EFCU, with the remaining 20% working from our Columbus Corporate Office.

**What you'll do:**

- Build relationships with schools, organizations, and individuals within our field of membership.

- Support partnerships such as Adopt-A-School and other community initiatives.
- Maintain a regular schedule of visits with organizations that align with our mission and community focus.

**Relationship Building**

- Partner with internal teams to address member concerns and help connect members with the right resources and solutions.

**Growth & Strategy**

- Contribute to membership growth and engagement goals.
- Track outreach activities, partnerships, and results to understand what's working and identify opportunities.
- Monitor trends and recommend strategies to strengthen community relationships and future growth.
- Partner with Marketing to support campaigns, promotions, and community initiatives.

**What makes someone successful at EFCU?**

We believe successful relationships start with genuine interest in people. We're looking for someone who brings energy, curiosity, and a desire to make a positive difference.

Someone who:

- Enjoys meeting new people, building relationships, and connecting with their community.
- Believes in the value of people helping people and is excited to share the credit union difference with others.
- Takes a member-first approach and looks for ways to understand and meet people's needs.
