The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of “**Safety Engineer | Τεχνικός Ασφαλείας****”**, for its premises in Chalkidiki. The position will be reported to the Supervisor Safety Engineer of the Health & Safety department in Skouries.

**Main Responsibilities:**

-   Understanding and compliance with the rules and regulations of the governing laws, the Hellas Gold (Eldorado Gold) health safety policy, management system, standards and practices.
-   Facilitation of the development of the Hellas Gold strategic OHS plan and assistance to sites in developing their annual OHS plans.
-   Acting as a technical expert and advisor for risk management processes, providing appropriate recommendations to site line management.
-   Training and development of site superiors, peers, and subordinates in the performance of their OHS duties, acting as quality control for this performance and providing feedback and coaching as required.
-   Analysis of Health and Safety trends to identify opportunities for improvement and communication of findings and recommendations to site management in an actionable and measurable form.
-   Responsible for occupational health monitoring and workplace measurements (noise, vibration, dust, illumination, ventilation, gases).
-   Awareness of site’s registered chemical substances and ensuring employee training on relevant SDS.
-   Develop an annual Health and Safety site’s inspections/audits plan and complete regular ad-hoc and scheduled site’s safety health inspections/audits to identify opportunities for improvement.
-   Maintain a consolidated site’s risk register.
-   Supervise and implement the international safety standards (ISO 39001, ISO 45001).
-   Ensure the proper P.P.E usage and continuous evaluation of their suitability.
-   Participate in OHS systems development (Risk Assessment, Job Safety Analysis, Safe Work Instructions, Standard Operation Procedures, Emergency Response Plans, Policies).
-   Assist with development and management of the departmental budget.  
    

**Requirements:**

-   Qualified Mining Engineer or equivalent technical engineer as required by the Greek Mining Statute.
-   Lead Auditor qualification and/or Lead Investigator qualification would be desirable.
-   NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
-   Underground mine and mills experience and/or civil construction/project exposure is desirable.
-   Technical and practical knowledge of Risk Management, Incident Investigation and Reporting, Auditing and Inspections.
-   Development and implementation of safety management system documentation and processes.
-   Demonstrated ability to develop and execute plans which are results oriented, specific and measurable.
-   Analyze information and statistics.
-   Fluency in spoken and written English.
-   Good computer and database skills.
-   Ability to interpret and implement requirements in accordance with Mining Law.
