## Description

We are looking for a Kindergarten Homeroom Teacher at a bilingual international kindergarten located in Chengdu. This position is available from February 2027, at the start of the second semester of the 2026-2027 academic year.

This bilingual kindergarten in Chengdu offers a play-based, inquiry-led early-years programme built on international early childhood frameworks and accreditation standards.

Job details

-   Lead a homeroom class of children aged 2 to 4 alongside co-teachers, planning and delivering play-based, inquiry-led learning
-   Observe, assess and record progress through learning stories, portfolios and progress reports
-   Differentiate learning to meet each child's developmental needs, interests and cultural background
-   Establish predictable routines and positive behaviour guidance that build self-regulation, cooperation and respect
-   Keep children physically and emotionally safe through active supervision and consistent health, hygiene and child protection procedures
-   Work closely with co-teachers and teaching assistants to achieve bilingual learning outcomes
-   Build strong partnerships with families through monthly updates, conferences and opportunities to join classroom events
-   Take part in professional development, curriculum planning and the school's international accreditation work
-   Help new international colleagues settle into the school's early-years philosophy
-   Support occasional weekend school events and community activities

## Requirements

-   Bachelor's degree or above in Early Childhood Education, Education or a related field
-   Additional qualifications such as PGCE, or a recognized teaching license (e.g., QTS, state certification) are highly desirable
-   3 to 5 years of homeroom teaching experience in a kindergarten or early-years setting, ideally with toddler and nursery classes
-   Experience with international early-years curricula such as IB PYP or EYFS preferred
-   First Aid or CPR certification and a background in child development an advantage
