## Description

**What we are looking for:**

**Important:** For this role we are only considering US-based candidates who are able & willing to work from Wednesday to Sunday every week.

We are seeking a highly motivated Test Manager to lead Quality Assurance for a AAA game development team. You will lead embedded testing teams, and partner with cross-functional leadership to balance quality, schedule, and risk in a complex development environment.

## Requirements

**What we will do together:**

_QA Strategy & Leadership_

-   Define global QA strategy, test objectives, quality gates, and risk-based testing methodologies for major project milestones.
-   Integrate QA into early development planning to ensure quality is a core part of the feature lifecycle rather than just final validation.

_People Management_

-   Mentor and develop a high-performing team of QA Leads and testers, fostering a culture of ownership and collaboration.
-   Manage both internal and external QA resources effectively to meet project demands.

_Test Planning & Execution_

-   Oversee comprehensive test execution across functional, gameplay, performance, stability, multiplayer, and platform certification areas.
-   Monitor defect trends and quality risks, ensuring critical issues are prioritized and driven to resolution.

_Defect & Risk Management_

-   Analyze defect data to identify systemic quality issues and drive root-cause analysis and preventative initiatives.
-   Communicate emerging quality risks and technical assessments clearly to Production and project leadership.

_Milestone & Release Management_

-   Establish QA schedules and deliverables for major milestones, providing objective assessments of build stability and release readiness.
-   Coordinate final regression and stabilization efforts during high-pressure release periods.

_Platform Certification_

-   Lead preparation for first-party certification, coordinating test plans and tracking submission risks to ensure successful launches.

_Cross-Functional Leadership_

-   Advocate for quality as the senior QA representative within project leadership, balancing technical standards with production constraints.
-   Build strong partnerships across disciplines to establish a shared responsibility for quality across the entire development team.

_External & Co-Development QA_

-   Manage external vendors and co-development QA teams, defining expectations and reporting standards to ensure seamless integration with internal strategy.

_QA Tools, Metrics & Process Improvement_

-   Implement data-driven reporting and dashboards to track build health, test coverage, and milestone progress.
-   Continuously improve QA efficiency through automation, tooling, and process retrospectives.

**What you will bring:**

-   7+ years in software QA with 3+ years managing teams in game development.
-   Proven track record of shipping at least one major AAA title across the full development lifecycle.
-   Expertise in developing test strategies, risk-based testing, and Agile methodologies.
-   Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.

_Nice to have_

-   Experience with Unreal audio features (e.g., Audio Mixer, MetaSounds, Sound Cues, Submixes, Quartz, spatialization plugins).
-   Experience with platform-specific audio constraints and certification considerations.
-   Experience building editor tools and pipeline automation.
-   Experience supporting large-scale content teams and multi-project shared technology.
-   Experience with console certification, multiplayer/online services, and live-service operations.
-   Familiarity with Jira, TestRail, and technical QA solutions like automation and telemetry.
