## Description

Under the general supervision of the Warehouse Manager, the Assistant Warehouse Manager supervises warehouse personnel and assists with the operation of the warehouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.       Operations: Managing the receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance of goods

2.       Space management: Setting up and maintaining the layout and ensuring efficient use of space

3.       Policies and procedures: Establishing and enforcing operational policies and procedures, and implementing and maintaining health and safety standards

4.       Inventory control: Keeping stock control systems up to date and ensuring inventory accuracy

5.       ISO/Quality assurance: Ensuring quality of products during receiving and before shipping and reporting any issues while maintaining all ISO standards.

6.       Logistics: Analyzing logistics data to increase productivity and prevent loss

7.       Customer service: Liaising with customers and responding to their communication

8.       Team management: Scheduling and overseeing the warehouse team, and managing the flow and quality of their work

9.       Maintenance: Inspecting equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and overseeing general maintenance when necessary

10.    Training: Training new employees on the proper use and maintenance of equipment and facilities

11.    Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service

12.    Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance when necessary

13.    Providing direct performance feedback, positive morale and behavior to model, and appropriate encouragement to the warehouse crew/retail staff

14.    Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers and freight partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages

15.    Perform inventory cycle counts weekly and managing any discrepancy in the inventory in the timeframe laid out in the Inventory control policy

## Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 Position works primarily in the warehouse area requiring mobility. Position routinely lifts items as heavy as 50lbs. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-   Make recommendations regarding all personnel decisions that may include rate adjustments, promotions, discipline, hiring and termination.

-   Inform staff of changes in policies and procedures.

-   Responsible for the training and development of staff.

-   Position must demonstrate positive leadership. This may be accomplished in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, professional behavior/appearance, work ethic and attendance.

-   Must have excellent communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

·         **Lifting and Carrying**: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds.

·         **Standing and Walking**: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, often up to 8-10 hours a day.

·         **Climbing and Balancing**: Ability to climb stairs and ladders and maintain balance on uneven surfaces.

·         **Stooping, Kneeling, and Crouching**: Required to stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently.

·         **Manual Dexterity**: Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

·         **Visual and Auditory Requirements**: Must have the ability to see and hear within normal ranges, with or without corrective devices.

·        **Operating Machinery:** Experience and ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
