## Description

Welder-1st Shift

The 1st shift Welder will be responsible for Layouts, fits, and welding fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms such as frames, stands, reels, shafts, and parts by performing the following duties.

**Position Responsibilities:**

-   Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
-   Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
-   Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
-   Set up equipment and welds parts, using MIG/TIG/Torch welding equipment.
-   Assembles parts by bolting and riveting.
-   Basic knowledge and use of hand and power tools. (i.e. angle grinders, wrenches, impacts, etc.)
-   Uses acetylene/plasma arc equipment to cut metal parts to print specifications.
-   Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
-   Responsible for reading blueprints, carrying out welding requirements, and ensuring product quality. Required to perform duties following work order process sheets.
-   Maintains and sustains 5S within the department.
-   Understands, supports, implements, and sustains 5S program initiatives and goals.

## Requirements

·         One-year certificate from college or technical school; or 2-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

_**·         2+ years of experience with MIG and TIG welding in a fabrication environment**_

_**·         Must have aluminum and stainless steel TIG welding experience**_

·         Blueprint reading is a must

·         Quality-focused

·         Welding certification or technical degree a plus
