## Description

We are seeking a commercially driven and consultative **New Business Development** to join our Tokyo office. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated sales professional who is passionate about helping financial institutions and business leaders make informed strategic decisions through market intelligence, economic insights, and data-driven advisory solutions.

As a New Business Development, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and securing new business opportunities with financial institutions, including banks, insurance companies, asset managers, investment firms, private equity investors across Japan. You will promote Euromonitor's Passport research platform, market intelligence solutions, and bespoke consulting capabilities to senior decision-makers responsible for investment strategy, business planning, product innovation, market expansion, and competitive intelligence.

In today's rapidly evolving economic and technological landscape, financial institutions require more than access to data. They need trusted partners who can help them navigate changing consumer behaviours, emerging industries, macroeconomic shifts, and growth opportunities. Success in this role comes from building relationships with senior stakeholders, uncovering complex business challenges, and delivering insight-led solutions that support strategic decision-making and commercial success.

The ideal candidate combines the drive of a business hunter, the curiosity of an analyst, and the credibility of a strategic advisor. They are comfortable engaging with senior executives, challenging conventional thinking, and helping clients leverage market intelligence to identify opportunities, manage risk, and gain competitive advantage.

### Key Responsibilities

-   Drive new business growth by identifying, prospecting, and winning opportunities within financial institutions, including banking, insurance, asset management, private equity, investment, securities, and fintech organizations.
-   Develop and execute strategic account acquisition plans to achieve and exceed individual revenue targets.
-   Proactively generate and manage a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities through networking, market research, referrals, industry events, and targeted outreach campaigns.
-   Engage senior stakeholders across strategy, research, investment, business development, product, innovation, and corporate planning functions to understand key business priorities and challenges.
-   ·Position Euromonitor's market intelligence, economic analysis, consumer insights, and consulting solutions as strategic tools that support investment decisions, market assessments, opportunity identification, risk evaluation, and business growth initiatives.
-   Adopt a consultative, challenger-based sales approach to uncover client needs, provide fresh perspectives, and create urgency around strategic business opportunities.
-   Lead high-value commercial discussions with senior executives and C-level decision-makers, demonstrating thought leadership and industry expertise.
-   Manage the full sales lifecycle, including prospecting, discovery, stakeholder mapping, solution presentations, proposal development, commercial negotiations, and contract execution.
-   Build trusted relationships with key client stakeholders and establish yourself as a strategic partner capable of supporting long-term business objectives.
-   Collaborate closely with consulting, research and product teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes and identify opportunities for account expansion.
-   Maintain accurate pipeline visibility, activity tracking, and sales forecasting through CRM systems.

## Requirements

-   Right to work in Japan.
-   Ideally minimum 5 years of successful B2B sales, business development, consultative selling, financial information services, market intelligence, research, consulting, SaaS, or related commercial experience.
-   Proven track record of acquiring new business and exceeding revenue targets in a hunter-oriented sales environment.
-   Experience engaging financial institutions, corporate strategy teams, investment professionals, or senior decision-makers and is highly desirable.
-   Strong commercial acumen and interest in financial markets, economic trends, investment strategy, business intelligence, and competitive analysis and being able to speak the same languages used by professionals in the respective industries.
-   Ability to develop executive-level relationships and influence senior stakeholders, including C-suite decision-makers.
-   Strong consultative selling and solution-based sales skills with the ability to uncover business needs and articulate commercial value.
-   Ability to synthesize complex information and translate insights into compelling business conversations and recommendations.
-   Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
-   Self-motivated, resilient, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in a high-performance, target-driven environment.
-   Native Japanese and fluent English (TOEIC 865+ or equivalent).
