### Overview of the role

We are seeking a commercially driven and consultative Sales Consultant to join our Tokyo office. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated sales professional who is passionate about helping organizations solve strategic business challenges through data and insights.

As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and securing new business opportunities with Japanese companies. You will promote Euromonitor's Passport research platform, consumer and market intelligence solutions, and bespoke consulting projects to senior decision-makers across FMCG industries.

In today's AI-driven business environment, access to information alone is no longer enough. Success in this role comes from helping clients interpret complex market dynamics, uncover growth opportunities, and make stronger strategic decisions through data-driven insights. As a trusted advisor, you will engage senior stakeholders in meaningful commercial discussions, challenge conventional thinking, and demonstrate how Euromonitor's data, insights, and consulting solutions can help organisations achieve measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate should possess the mindset of a business developer, the curiosity of an analyst, and the credibility of a strategic advisor to help clients identify growth opportunities, navigate market challenges, and create competitive advantage through market intelligence and consumer insight.

### Key Responsibilities

-   Drive new business growth by identifying, prospecting, and securing opportunities with Japanese organizations seeking consumer, market, and industry insights to support strategic decision-making.
-   Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed individual revenue targets.
-   Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified prospects through market research, networking, and proactive outreach.
-   Understand clients' business priorities and challenges, and align Euromonitor's data, insights, and consulting solutions to deliver measurable commercial outcomes, including growth, innovation, market expansion, and competitive positioning.
-   Adopt a consultative, challenger-based sales approach to uncover client needs, provide fresh perspectives, challenge conventional thinking, and guide clients towards strategic opportunities.
-   Lead insight-driven conversations with senior stakeholders and decision-makers, helping them interpret consumer, market, and industry trends to make informed business decisions.
-   Manage the full sales lifecycle, including prospecting, discovery meetings, solution presentations, proposal development, commercial negotiations, and contract closure.
-   Build trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders, acting as a strategic partner while collaborating closely with internal teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
-   Drive client adoption, engagement, and long-term success, identifying opportunities for renewals, account expansion, and additional consulting engagements
-   Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline updates through CRM systems

## Requirements

-   Right to work in Japan
-   Minimum 3 years of proven success in a B2B commercial, business development, consultative sales, market research, data, consulting, or related environment.
-   Strong business acumen with an interest in growth strategy, consumer behaviour, marketing, innovation, and competitive intelligence.
-   Ability to engage, influence, and build credibility with senior executives and C-level stakeholders
-   Ability to synthesize complex information and translate insights into compelling commercial conversations and business recommendations.
-   Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
-   Self-motivated, resilient, and able to thrive in a target-driven and fast-paced environment.
-   Language skills: Native Japanese and fluent in English (TOEIC865 or more)
