## Description

The design lead will play a vital role in delivering both electronic and physical security systems design packages. You'll collaborate closely with our BIM/CAD Technicians and the technical team throughout the process, confidently guiding cross-discipline coordination and making informed decisions as client documentation evolves. It's important to ensure that everything aligns perfectly with baseline requirements. We’re looking for someone with strong problem-solving abilities, a commitment to setting high standards, and an eye for the finer details!

**Responsibilities**

-   Build and maintain a strong working relationship with the client, with a clear understanding of project nuances and expectations.
-   Identify and resolve design issues, offering solutions and improvements.
-   Approach the project, considering client requirements, installation efficiencies, and overall delivery impact.
-   Produce base “spots and dots” design layouts.
-   Conduct detailed ironmongery reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
-   Coordinate with other architectural engineering teams, such as Telecoms, to gather and clarify cross‑discipline requirements.
-   Proactively drive the project forward by defining information needs, timelines, and dependencies.
-   Work closely with the BIM manager/lead to align on backgrounds, layouts, cable measurements, duct routing, and other model‑related details.
-   Act as the primary point of contact for all security‑related queries.
-   Interpret and adapt to evolving client documentation and design direction.
-   Ensure local regulatory and project‑specific requirements are incorporated into the design.
-   Perform design validation and drawing reviews, identifying and correcting errors or inconsistencies.
-   Demonstrate strong understanding of design matrices and other key technical design components.

## Requirements

-   Demonstrated experience as a Security Project Engineer in a Data Centre setting.
-   Familiarity with CAD is a plus, and experience with Revit would be ideal.
-   Proficient in Excel and Outlook.
-   Excellent technical skills and a knack for solving problems.
-   You should be able to work independently and manage your time effectively.
-   Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to high standards, with careful attention to detail.
-   Great communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration across teams.
