**THE ROLE**

We're seeking an experienced outbound sales leader to drive the next phase of growth for our Business Direct team.

Leading a team of outbound Relationship Managers, you'll be responsible for building a high-performing, customer-focused sales culture that delivers both customer retention and portfolio growth across an established SME customer base. With a strong focus on proactive customer engagement, you'll identify opportunities to strengthen relationships, increase share of wallet and maximise value across the customer lifecycle.

You'll play a key role in shaping the future direction of the team, embedding effective sales methodologies, driving outbound sales performance and fostering an engaged, results-driven culture. Some of your key responsibilities will be:

-   Lead, coach and develop a team of outbound relationship managers to achieve sales, retention and growth targets
-   Implement structured outbound sales methodologies (e.g., call frameworks, cadence and portfolio lifecycle call strategies) 
-   Segment the customer portfolio strategically to prioritise retention, growth, share of wallet and outbound engagement opportunities 
-   Drive proactive customer engagement through targeted outbound calling programmes 
-   Monitor and improve team performance through sales coaching, pipeline reviews and activity management.
-   Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer outcomes and continuous improvement.
-   Partner with Marketing, Customer Experience and other key stakeholders to enhance customer engagement and lifecycle strategies.
-   Ensure effective use of CRM and sales enablement tools to support performance, pipeline visibility and customer management.

**ABOUT YOU**

You're a passionate and people-focused sales leader who knows how to build high-performing outbound sales teams and create a culture where performance, accountability and engagement go hand in hand. You thrive in fast-paced, metrics-driven environments and have a proven ability to drive growth through structured sales methodologies, strong coaching and proactive customer engagement.

You bring a track record of leading phone-based sales teams to success, while navigating change, embedding new ways of working and bringing people on the journey. Equally comfortable in the detail of sales performance metrics as you are motivating a team, you'll have the energy, resilience and commercial mindset to drive results while fostering a positive and engaging team culture.

To be successful in this role you will have:

-   5+ years' experience in an outbound B2B sales environment, with a proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
-   Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing outbound phone-based sales teams, with expertise in structured sales methodologies and platforms such as Salesforce, Genesys or similar CRM and customer engagement systems.
-   A proven ability to lead teams through change, influencing and engaging stakeholders while successfully embedding new ways of working.
-   An understanding of customer lifecycle management and a passion for identifying opportunities to enhance customer engagement and growth.

**Industry experience isn't essential.** We're open to leaders from industries such as telecommunications, energy, financial services or other complex, high-volume outbound sales environments, provided you bring strong sales leadership capability and a passion for driving performance and growth.
