# Robotics Engineering Intern - Testing

> Flexion Robotics · Zürich, Switzerland · Temporary · Posted 2026-07-30

**Workplace:** on_site

**Department:** Hardware Engineering

## Description

### About Flexion:

At Flexion, we're building the intelligence layer powering the next generation of humanoid robots. Our mission is to accelerate the transition from fragile prototypes to real-world deployment of humanoids. We are founded by leading scientists in robot reinforcement learning (ex-Nvidia, ex-ETH Zürich) and backed by leading international VC firms. Within a few months, we’ve gone from our first line of code to deploying real humanoid capabilities with our partners.

### The role

As a Robotics Engineering Intern, you’ll be able to work hands-on with our diverse robot fleet to test the Flexion software. We're looking for a curious, hands-on Robotics Engineering Intern who wants to test AI software running on real hardware. You'll work directly with our diverse robot fleet, putting the full Flexion stack through its paces on physical systems and helping our AI engineers close the loop between models and machines.

In this role, you'll gain first-hand experience with what it takes to deploy and validate learning-based software on real robots: designing tests, chasing down bugs that only show up on hardware, and keeping a fleet of robots and test infrastructure in fighting shape. If a failed test run makes you want to dig into logs until you find the root cause, we would love to hear from you.

### Key responsibilities

- Conduct full-stack tests of Flexion software, from setup through execution and reporting
- Investigate and debug issues that surface during hardware testing, working across the software/hardware boundary
- Support the maintenance, calibration, and readiness of our robot fleet so systems are always available for testing
- Maintain and improve our test infrastructure (e.g. motion capture, test rigs) to keep experimentation reliable
- Run dedicated test campaigns for AI engineers and help translate their needs into repeatable test setups
- Document findings, fixes, and test procedures so the whole team benefits from what you learn

## Requirements

- Currently pursuing an MSc in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with robotic systems and debugging complex issues across the full stack
- Good programming skills in C++
- Comfortable working in Linux/Ubuntu environments
- Autonomous working style - you take ownership of a problem and drive it to a conclusion
- Fast-learning mentality: new problems excite you rather than intimidate you
- Professional working proficiency in English

Nice to Have

- Experience with Python for scripting and test automation
- Familiarity with ROS/ROS 2 or similar robotics middleware
- Experience with motion capture systems or other lab test equipment
- Exposure to simulation environments (Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, Gazebo, etc.)
- Basic Git and version control workflow experience
- A portfolio of projects, hacks, or builds you're proud to show off

## Benefits

- Competitive compensation
- A front-row seat at one of Europe's most ambitious robotics companies
- An energetic, collaborative team with a bias for action
