## About the Opportunity

MezTal is looking for a **Accountant Accounts Payable Specialist** to join the finance team of one of our U.S.-based clients in the Senior Living industry.

This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in Accounts Payable, payment operations, and financial reconciliations.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with U.S.-based teams, managing financial transactions, resolving discrepancies, and supporting accurate and timely financial operations.

## Key Responsibilities

-   Manage the full Accounts Payable cycle, from invoice receipt and verification through payment processing and reconciliation.
-   Review, validate, and process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal procedures.
-   Perform two-way and three-way matching, including purchase orders and receiving documentation.
-   Prepare and coordinate vendor payments, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
-   Reconcile vendor statements, AP balances, and payment transactions, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
-   Support month-end closing activities, including AP accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
-   Maintain accurate vendor records and assist with vendor inquiries and payment-related issues.
-   Collaborate with U.S.-based accounting, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth financial processes.
-   Support internal controls, audits, and compliance with company accounting policies.
-   Identify opportunities to improve Accounts Payable processes, accuracy, and efficiency.

## Requirements

## Requirements

-   Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
-   **5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable**, preferably in a senior or accounting-focused role.
-   Hands-on experience managing the **full Accounts Payable cycle**.
-   Experience supporting U.S. operations or working with international companies.
-   Strong understanding of invoice processing, payment operations, vendor reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
-   Knowledge of general accounting principles, including accruals, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.
-   Professional English proficiency, both written and spoken.
-   Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting systems or ERP platforms.
-   Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
-   Must reside in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area and be available to work in a hybrid environment.

## Preferred Qualifications

-   Experience with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems.
-   Familiarity with U.S. accounting practices and US GAAP.
-   Experience with ACH payments, wire transfers, and payment runs.
-   Knowledge of SOX controls, audit support, and financial compliance.
-   Previous experience in high-volume Accounts Payable environments.
-   Experience working with multiple entities, locations, or business units.
