We are actively hiring a Medical Assistant at our Denver, CO site.

**Shift:** Monday- Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM  
**Location:** Onsite  
**FLSA Classification:** Non-Exempt  
**Compensation:** $22.00-$27.00 hourly

## Requirements

-   Coordinating patient flow to minimize wait times. 
-   Rooms patients, prepares and maintains examination and treatment area before, during and after each patient activity. 
-   Obtains vital signs and input them into EMR. Must be able to recognize and respond to any emergency situation appropriately. Reports abnormal vitals to providers. 
-   Prepares the patient and provides information as needed. 
-   Performs or assist physician to perform exams, test and procedures as ordered by the physician such as EKG’s or other procedures, and phlebotomy, including venipunctures, finger sticks, and injections. 
-   Collects and process specimens. 
-   Prepares and administers oral and parenteral medications and immunizations, if within scope of practice as directed and supervised by the physician and/or RN. 
-   Documents patient communication and clinical treatments accurately and appropriately within the EMR. 
-   Performs routine maintenance of instrument and clinical equipment. 
-   Stock rooms and supplies as needed. Receives, unpacks, organizes, and puts away medical supplies. 
-   Receives, organizes, scans, faxes and encounters documents into EMR by either filing those documents properly according to their respective section and/or taking appropriate action required by the document. 
-   Evaluates the quality of care provided and recommends changes for improvement. 
-   As needed, floats between departments and providers as assigned based on daily clinic needs. 
-   Provide support and coverage of  front desk, back office, patient scheduling, and research staff when needed. 
-   Assist with general clinic and reception area duties, including workflow support, administrative duties, and projects as needed. 
-   Assists with key initiatives/process improvements in the department. 
-   Complete any other task assigned by management to support clinic operations. 
-   Maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures and related departmental procedures. 
-   Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment. 
-   Follow all HIPAA regulations in accordance with policies and training. 
-   Maintain confidentiality of patient and/or protocol issues as appropriate and as bound by Confidentiality Agreements including but not limited to those with Flourish Research, between Flourish Research and sponsors, and between Flourish Research and other entities. 
-   Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner. 
-   Represent Flourish Research in a professional and courteous manner (verbal, written and in appearance) when interacting with Flourish staff, sponsors, IRBs, patients, nursing and medical staff members of various clinics, hospitals, and physician’s offices. 
-   Additional duties as assigned by supervisor or management. 

**Physical Requirements And/or Environmental Factors:**

-   Work is normally performed in a typical interior, office and clinical work environment. 
-   Local travel may be required to other sites in the Denver area, as applicable. 
-   Exposure to human bodily fluids, blood borne pathogens, infectious diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions that are common to the clinical environment. 
-   Exposure to laboratory processing procedures. 
-   Frequent contact with patients, physicians, and other center staff. Moderate to extensive computer use. 
-   Ability to work in an environment which at times may be stressful, including frequent interactions with others, interruptions, multiple calls and inquiries, and potentially emotional situations involving accidents, injuries and/or death. 
-   Ability to properly lift thirty-five pounds and occasionally more than thirty-five pounds. 
-   Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Requires full range of body motion including lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. 
-   Manual dexterity to operate a computer, telephone, copier, fax, and other such office equipment and medical equipment, as necessary. 
-   Occasional overtime work as needed

**Minimum Requirements:** 

-   High School diploma or equivalent
-   Current Medical Assistant Certification
-   Current CPR certification 

**Experience:** 

-   Minimum of 1-2+ years’ relevant experience providing medical support in a clinical setting.
-   Oncology experience is preferred.
