Currently we have an opening for the following project:  

**Garmin Marine Cloud**: Our team develops software solutions for Garmin Marine, the platform for tracking, monitoring, and navigating marine environments using data gathered from our advanced marine devices. The Marine ecosystem relies on complex technical solutions with multiple microservices working together to process, categorize, and utilize information provided by marine chartplotters, fishfinders, autopilot systems, radar, marine charts, and other marine electronics. These solutions ensure seamless integration and performance, empowering users to navigate safely and efficiently while enjoying their time on the water. Our innovative products and solutions have been recognized with multiple awards from the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA), underscoring our commitment to excellence and leadership in marine technology.

We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require 5 days in the office each week.

_**Joining this team, you will:**_  

-   Develop software for Garmin products and/or applications consistently following Garmin’s coding standards and in accordance with applicable software development methodology and release processes.
-   Utilize software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers in the software development process.
-   Create and execute designs for small sets of new functionalities as part of a software project.
-   Collaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
-   Provide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques.

## Requirements

-   Strong knowledge of Java and OOP principles.
-   Proficiency experience in designing, enhancing and developing complex Java microservices (Spring Boot) or cloud-native applications.
-   Skilled in Spring Framework.
-   Good knowledge of web services (REST).
-   Knowledgeable about relational or non-relational databases.
-   Good understanding of design patterns.
-   Skilled in unit testing.
-   Good usage skills of development tools (source control, development environment, issue tracking).
-   Good knowledge of building tools and continuous delivery.
-   5+ years of relevant work experience.
-   Excellent English speaking and writing skills.

_**Would be a plus, if you:**_

-   Have experience with .NET, JS
-   Knowledge and experience with AKS/Kubernetes
-   Familiar with Azure or AWS
