# The Gathering Place (Brattleboro Area Adult Day Services) Careers

> <p>The Gathering Place (TGP) is a not-for-profit 501c3 Adult Day program serving elders and adults with disabilities throughout Windham County</p><p><em><strong>Mission and History</strong></em></p><p>TGP lives by its mission, “The Gathering Place provides Adult Day and other services to promote empowerment, independence and quality of life for elders, adults with disabilities and their caregivers. We are dedicated to fostering collaborative community partnerships.” </p><p>TGP began providing services in 1989 in a basement room at a local facility, serving six (6) families.  This year TGP, Windham County’s only Adult Day Program, is proudly celebrating 31 years of operation. TGP has transformed itself over the years to meet the ever-changing needs and increasing numbers of those we serve and by the close of the last Fiscal Year we had served over 40 families. </p>
