**Workplace:** remote

## Description

Genesis PHCM is a physician-led healthcare platform built to expand access to care through a modern, patient-centered model. Our foundation is virtual-first, providing 24/7 telehealth services to patients across the United States, while expanding our services onsite through urgent care and a Primary Care Clinic.

We are seeking a knowledgeable, analytical, and community-focused Public Health Consultant to help strengthen Genesis’s healthcare operations, public health initiatives, and access to funding opportunities

The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, building processes from the ground up, and translating healthcare requirements and public health research into practical recommendations within a growing healthcare organization

This role will report to the VP of Operations and work closely with the CEO to guide operational practices, identify relevant regulatory agencies and requirements, develop community health initiatives, and pursue suitable grants and funding opportunities

## Key Responsibilities

- Provide public health and healthcare operational guidance, helping the operations team identify applicable requirements, appropriate agencies, and matters requiring clinical or legal review
- Research relevant federal, state, and local healthcare requirements and public health guidance, assess their operational implications, and recommend updates to policies, procedures, and workflows
- Research grant and funding opportunities, verify Genesis’s eligibility, and coordinate applications, supporting documentation, deadlines, and reporting requirements
- Monitor infectious and chronic disease trends, community health indicators, and public health alerts to identify needs and recommend appropriate organizational responses
- Develop and coordinate health education, disease-prevention, wellness, and community health initiatives aligned with Genesis’s services and target populations
- Support the development of public health policies, emergency preparedness plans, and community health interventions in collaboration with the CEO and relevant clinical professionals
- Build relationships with public health departments, government agencies, nonprofits, schools, advocacy groups, and other organizations that support community programs, funding, and access to care
- Analyze public health and program data, prepare clear reports and educational resources, and coordinate with the Healthcare Partnerships Specialist to avoid duplicate outreach and identify opportunities for collaboration

## Performance Expectations (Key Results)

Within this role, expected outcomes include:

- Establish a practical reference outlining relevant agencies, applicable requirements, key contacts, and escalation routes for Genesis’s current services and target markets
- Review existing operational practices and provide a prioritized action plan addressing identified gaps, with clear ownership and recommended timelines
- Develop a grant pipeline and funding calendar that document eligibility, strategic fit, application requirements, deadlines, and next steps
- Prepare and coordinate suitable grant applications with approved program plans, budgets, and supporting documentation
- Establish documented public health procedures and resources that help the operations team make informed decisions and escalate concerns appropriately
- Develop community health initiatives with defined objectives, implementation milestones, and measures of effectiveness

## Requirements

### **Minimum Requirements**

- Experience working in a remote startup or similarly fast-paced, evolving environment
- Availability to provide approximately 30 hours of support per week
- Availability for company-wide meetings and collaboration, when needed, between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM Pacific Time
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, epidemiology, community health, or a related field
- At least three years of experience in public health, healthcare operations, healthcare compliance, community health programming, or a related area
- Demonstrated experience researching US healthcare requirements, identifying relevant agencies, and translating findings into practical operational guidance
- Experience identifying grant opportunities, assessing organizational eligibility, and contributing to applications, proposals, or grant reporting
- Experience interpreting public health, epidemiological, biostatistical, or program data to support recommendations and evaluate outcomes
- Experience developing policies, SOPs, educational resources, or community health programs
- Working knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements and appropriate handling of confidential patient information
- Strong research, analytical, communication, project-management, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to distinguish operational guidance from matters requiring licensed clinical judgment, legal advice, or specialist review

### **Preferred Requirements**

- Master’s degree in public health, healthcare administration, epidemiology, or a related field
- Experience supporting telehealth, primary care, urgent care, or healthcare organizations operating across multiple states
- Experience securing grant funding or managing funded programs, including budgets, reporting, and funder relationships
- Experience working with public health departments, government agencies, nonprofits, or underserved communities
- Experience supporting emergency preparedness, health education, disease prevention, or community health assessments
- Experience establishing public health or healthcare compliance processes within a growing organization
- Interest in building a long-term relationship with Genesis as the organization grows

## Benefits

- Monthly retainer
- Approximately **10-20 hours per week**, based on need
- **Flexible working hours** outside of required meetings and collaboration needs
- Fully remote engagement
- Potential opportunity to transition from a freelance engagement to **W-2 employment** as Genesis grows, based on business needs and mutual fit
