### **Trainee Estimator / Estimating Assistant**

**Location:** \[Insert Location\]  
**Salary:** Competitive (dependent on experience) + progression  
**Hours:** Monday–Friday

### **The Opportunity**

We’re working with a well-established and growing contractor who is looking to bring in a **Trainee Estimator / Estimating Assistant** as part of their long-term growth plans.

This is an excellent opportunity for either:

-   A **graduate / HND / HNC-qualified candidate** looking to start a career in construction/commercial roles  
    **or**
-   A **bright, proactive individual currently on the tools** who is looking to step into an office-based position

You’ll be trained from the ground up, working closely with an experienced estimating team and learning how projects are priced, scoped, and won.

### **What You’ll Be Doing**

-   Assisting with the preparation of estimates and tenders
-   Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project requirements
-   Supporting with take-offs and cost breakdowns
-   Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes
-   Helping build accurate project pricing and proposals
-   Working closely with senior estimators and commercial staff

## Requirements

-   HND, HNC, or degree in construction, engineering, or a related field **or** hands-on site experience
-   Strong numeracy and attention to detail
-   Good communication skills and a willingness to learn- you need to be able to build relationships with clients and suppliers
-   Ambition to build a long-term career in estimating/commercial roles
-   A practical mindset with an interest in how projects are delivered
-   Attending site visits with client
