## Description

Gritter Francona is looking for a Jr. Trainer that will support the development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of training and educational activities associated with the Elevated Risk Care Management (ERCM) Pilot. The position will help prepare clinical and operational staff to effectively adopt and implement new care coordination processes designed to improve suicide prevention-related care for Veterans at elevated risk.

The Jr. Trainer will support training activities throughout the pilot lifecycle, including Concept, Explore, Design, Implement, Evaluate, and Spread phases. Working under the direction of senior training, implementation, and program personnel, the Jr. Trainer will assist with assessing training needs, developing customized learning materials, coordinating training logistics, delivering instructor-led and web-based training, evaluating training effectiveness, and maintaining training records.

The successful candidate will have strong communication and presentation skills, an understanding of healthcare delivery, and the ability to translate complex program and clinical requirements into clear, practical learning experiences for diverse audiences.

### Key Responsibilities

### Training Needs Assessment

-   Support assessment of training and education needs associated with implementation of the ERCM Pilot.
-   Assist in identifying knowledge, communication, workflow, and skill requirements for affected clinical and operational staff.
-   Conduct interviews, surveys, observations, and other activities to identify training gaps.
-   Analyze identified needs and assist in translating them into appropriate training objectives and learning activities.
-   Support development of role-specific training recommendations for pilot-site personnel.
-   Identify opportunities for remedial or supplemental training based on implementation feedback and performance.

### Training Development

-   Assist with planning, designing, developing, and revising customized training courses and educational materials.
-   Develop training content appropriate for instructor-led and web-based learning environments.
-   Create and maintain workbooks, facilitator guides, presentations, job aids, exercises, reference materials, and other instructional products.
-   Ensure training materials accurately reflect approved ERCM workflows, processes, roles, and procedures.
-   Assist in developing customized workshops and remedial training modules based on identified knowledge and performance gaps.
-   Incorporate stakeholder feedback and pilot lessons learned into training materials.
-   Support development of training materials that can be adapted for future national implementation.

### Instructor-Led Training

-   Conduct or co-facilitate instructor-led training in traditional classroom, conference, seminar, workshop, and other face-to-face settings.
-   Present information clearly and effectively to clinical, operational, administrative, and other audiences.
-   Facilitate interactive exercises, discussions, demonstrations, and question-and-answer sessions.
-   Adapt delivery approaches based on participant needs and knowledge levels.
-   Assist senior trainers and SMEs with delivery of specialized training content.
-   Support training sessions at pilot sites and other locations as required.

### Web-Based and Virtual Training

-   Conduct or support online training through Internet/Intranet-based systems, learning management systems, software packages, and computer applications.
-   Assist with development and delivery of virtual workshops, webinars, demonstrations, and other online learning activities.
-   Test training content and technology before delivery to ensure materials function properly.
-   Provide participants with technical and instructional assistance during online training.
-   Support development of reusable web-based learning materials for future implementation.

### Training Evaluation

-   Support evaluation of training effectiveness and participant learning.
-   Develop and administer training evaluations, surveys, knowledge checks, and feedback instruments.
-   Analyze participant feedback and identify opportunities to improve training content and delivery.
-   Track participation, completion, satisfaction, and other relevant training measures.
-   Recommend revisions to training materials based on evaluation findings and implementation experience.
-   Provide training performance information to Government program leads and contractor leadership.

### Elevated Risk Care Management Training Support

-   Support training related to implementation of the ERCM operating model.
-   Help ensure clinical and operational personnel understand new roles, responsibilities, workflows, and care coordination processes.
-   Support training associated with coordination of follow-up for Veterans identified through multiple pathways, including REACH VET, Risk ID, PDE, SPED, post-event outreach, and Veterans Crisis Line-related requests.
-   Assist with training designed to reduce redundant outreach and improve coordination among Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) teams, Mental Health Treatment Coordinators (MHTCs), suicide prevention personnel, and other clinical teams.
-   Coordinate with clinical SMEs and implementation staff to ensure training content reflects approved workflows and operational requirements.
-   Identify training issues that may affect adoption or implementation and communicate them to appropriate project personnel.

### Training Administration and Records Management

-   Perform training-related administrative tasks, including scheduling, registration, attendance tracking, course coordination, and participant communications.
-   Develop and maintain training databases and training records.
-   Track course participation, completion, evaluations, and required follow-up activities.
-   Maintain current versions of training materials and supporting documentation.
-   Support training calendars, schedules, rosters, and status reports.
-   Ensure training documentation is organized, accurate, and readily available to authorized stakeholders.

### Learning Management Support

-   Support administration of learning management systems and web-based training platforms.
-   Assist with uploading, organizing, testing, and maintaining training content.
-   Monitor completion and participation data.
-   Support troubleshooting of basic learner access and course-related issues.
-   Assist with development of reports related to training participation and completion.

### Stakeholder Coordination

-   Attend and participate in project meetings, IPT meetings, training planning sessions, committees, and working groups.
-   Coordinate with Government program leads, clinical SMEs, implementation personnel, pilot-site representatives, and other stakeholders.
-   Prepare training-related agendas, presentations, status updates, and meeting materials.
-   Communicate training schedules, requirements, and changes to appropriate audiences.
-   Gather stakeholder feedback and incorporate appropriate recommendations into training products.
-   Support coordination of training activities across the three pilot sites.

### Presentations and Communications

-   Prepare and deliver presentations for clinical, operational, and leadership audiences.
-   Develop concise briefing materials, training summaries, and other communications.
-   Tailor presentation and communication styles to different audiences and learning environments.
-   Support demonstrations and educational sessions as requested.
-   Represent the training workstream professionally during meetings and stakeholder engagements.

### Transition and National Scale Support

-   Support development of training resources for transition from the pilot to broader implementation.
-   Assist in creating standardized training packages, facilitator guides, workbooks, job aids, and online learning resources.
-   Incorporate pilot lessons learned and evaluation findings into training materials.
-   Support development of scalable training approaches that can be deployed across different VHA operational environments.
-   Assist with training readiness activities for phased national implementation.
-   Support ongoing updates to training content as workflows, policies, and implementation requirements evolve.

## Requirements

-   Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in education, instructional design, healthcare administration, public health, communications, business administration, clinical discipline, or a related field.
-   Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in training, education, instructional support, healthcare training, learning and development, or a related discipline.

### Preferred Qualifications

-   Professional clinical experience or demonstrated understanding of healthcare delivery and clinical workflows.
-   Experience supporting theDepartment of Veterans Affairs (VA) or Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
-   Familiarity with VA suicide prevention programs and processes, including REACH VET, Risk ID, PDE, SPED, post-event outreach, and Veterans Crisis Line-related requests.
