## Description

**About the Role**

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer with strong IBM Sterling B2B Integrator experience to join the Business Platforms team at a leading UAE bank. You will own the design, development, and support of business processes and integrations that move critical banking data securely between internal systems and external partners.

This is a hands on engineering role for someone who knows Sterling deeply, enjoys solving integration problems, and can work directly with business and technology stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities**

_Development and Integration_

-   Design, develop, test, and deploy business processes in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator using BPML
-   Build and maintain integrations using Sterling services and adapters, including SFTP, FTP, HTTP, Connect:Direct, and file system adapters
-   Develop and maintain data transformation maps in Sterling Map Editor across XML, flat file, and EDI formats
-   Write custom code and SQL where needed to extend Sterling capabilities and analyse integration data

_Partner and File Management_

-   Onboard and manage trading partners, communities, and certificates through Sterling File Gateway
-   Configure secure file routing, encryption, and transfer policies in line with bank security standards

_Performance and Support_

-   Monitor business process performance, identify bottlenecks and failures, and recommend improvements to throughput and reliability
-   Provide production support, investigate incidents, and resolve issues within agreed SLAs
-   Support release management and deployments across development, UAT, and production environments

_Stakeholder Collaboration and Documentation_

-   Work with business and technology stakeholders to map, document, and optimise integration workflows
-   Maintain clear technical documentation for business processes, maps, adapters, and partner configurations

_Standards and Mentoring_

-   Enforce development standards, code quality, and best practices across the integration landscape
-   Guide junior developers through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing

### Requirements

**Must Have**

-   6+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4 years hands on in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator
-   Strong experience developing business processes in BPML
-   Hands on experience with Sterling Map Editor and data transformation across XML, flat file, and EDI
-   Solid working knowledge of Sterling File Gateway, adapters, and trading partner management
-   Good understanding of secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS) and certificate management
-   Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, or SQL Server
-   Experience supporting production integration environments with defined SLAs
-   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
-   Strong English communication skills and the confidence to work directly with stakeholders

**Nice to Have**

-   Banking or financial services experience, especially payment flows, host to host integrations, or SWIFT related file exchanges
-   IBM Sterling Connect:Direct administration experience
-   Java or scripting experience for building custom Sterling services
-   Experience running Sterling on containerised or cloud platforms such as OpenShift
-   IBM Sterling certification
-   Experience working in Agile delivery teams
