## Description

We are looking a passionate Alpha and Discipleship Pastor to help more young adults and adults under 35 encounter Jesus through Alpha to become fully engaged disciples within the life of HTB. This role will lead HTB’s strategic efforts to grow participation in Alpha among under-35s, working closely with the HTB Alpha team, congregations and ministries to create clear pathways for invitation, belonging and discipleship. This is a highly relational and ministry-facing role requiring strong pastoral instincts, a passion for evangelism, and a heart for helping people grow as followers of Jesus.

### **Key Responsibilities**

-   **Grow Alpha among under-35s -** Develop and implement creative strategies to increase invitations, participation, and engagement, particularly among young adults and emerging generations.

-   **Shape the Alpha journey -** Help ensure every guest has a clear and supported next step, from registration through to integration into church life.

-   **Build discipleship pathways -** Work with Connect Groups and ministries to help guests find community, deepen faith, and establish rhythms of discipleship (prayer, Bible reading, serving).

-   **Support church integration -** Connect guests into serving teams and Sunday congregations where they can belong and flourish.
-   **Develop leaders and teams -** Recruit, train, and support volunteers, building a strong culture of invitation, welcome, and pastoral care.
-   C**ontribute to wider ministry life -** Play an active role in HTB’s vision, events, and pastoral life, helping create spaces where people encounter Jesus and grow in faith.

## Requirements

-   Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

-   A committed Christian, with a vibrant personal faith and a clear sense of calling to ministry for this pastoral role
-   Passion for evangelism and helping people come to faith in Jesus.
-   Experience of leading or serving on Alpha
-   Strong pastoral skills and ability to build trust with young adults and emerging generations
-   Experience of leading volunteers and developing teams
-   Strong organisational and project-management skills
-   Ability to work collaboratively across a large and complex church environment.
