In the short term, our mission is to ensure that every child in South Africa, regardless of their circumstances, has access to excellent high school education. We will achieve this by bringing together the best of human support, technology, engaging content from gifted teachers and joyful learning spaces.

### Role Overview

The Production Intern will play a key role in supporting the product team to craft high-quality lessons and learning experiences. The role centres on studio operations and lesson production, from running filming sessions and supporting teachers on camera, through to first-pass editing and uploading finished lessons to the platform. This is a dynamic opportunity to contribute meaningfully to an education-focused organisation while gaining hands-on professional experience in content production and learning technology.

The Production Intern will report to Tanya B., Product Operations Manager.

### Key Responsibilities

1\. Studio and Filming Operations

-   Manage the studio and oversee all filming activities.
-   Ensure audio and video is set up to established procedures and provide teleprompter support when needed.
-   Energise and support teachers during lesson recordings.
-   Assist teachers in organising props, dress-ups, and guest appearances for studio sessions.
-   Appear as a guest in studio lessons, if needed.

2\. Lesson Content and Editing Support

-   Assist the product team in crafting high-quality lessons and learning experiences.
-   Perform first edits on recordings, including removing green screens and errors.
-   Ensure footage is correctly stored and shared.
-   Support the editing team as required.

3\. Learning Technology Support

-   Assist the Learning Technology team by preparing and revising lessons for upload.
-   Assisting with video management on drives. 
-   Support quality checks on uploaded lessons to ensure a smooth student experience.

4\. Cross-Functional Support

-   Support teacher recruitment activities as needed.
-   Assist with market research to inform product and lesson decisions.
-   Support the sale and distribution of Huddle lessons where required.

5\. Flexible and Evolving Role

-   Adapt to additional tasks and responsibilities as needed by the product team.
-   Participate in cross-functional activities and lend support where required.

Due to the ever-changing nature of startups, the intern’s responsibilities may evolve to align with changing business needs.

## Requirements

-   Currently pursuing or recently completed a qualification in Media Production, Film, Communications, Education, or a related field.
-   Interest in education, content creation, and the use of media to support learning.
-   Strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
-   Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
-   Comfortable on a studio set and able to energise and support teachers on camera.
-   Basic video editing skills and willingness to learn additional tools.
-   Proficient in Google Workspace.
-   Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
-   Comfortable working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
-   Driver’s licence and/or willingness to travel for production-related activities as needed.

### Role Details

-   Contract type: Fixed-term, one (1) year.
-   Working hours: 40 hours per week, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
-   Location: Huddle’s office in Pinelands (Pine Park, Office 101A, 1 Logan Way, Pinelands).
-   Reporting line: Tanya B., Product Operations Manager.
