**Workplace:** remote

**Department:** 024

## Description

**Looking for Philippines-based candidates**

**Job Role:** Fashion Designer & Product Developer

**Compensation range:** $1,200 AUD - $1,800 AUD / Monthly

**Engagement type:** Independent Contractor Agreement

**Work Schedule:** This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

**Who We Are:** At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

**Who The Client Is:** Our client is an Australian business that partners with entrepreneurs and established brands to bring innovative consumer products to market. By combining product strategy, creative development, and end-to-end production expertise, they help transform ideas into high-quality products across a range of lifestyle categories. Their collaborative, fast-paced environment is driven by innovation, precision, and a commitment to delivering exceptional products that meet evolving market demands.

**Role Overview:** We're looking for a Fashion Designer & Product Development Support Assistant to join a growing product team and provide hands-on support across both design and garment development.

This is a mid-level support role designed to assist experienced designers rather than operate as a standalone designer. You'll help manage the team's workload by preparing design assets, updating technical documentation, and supporting product development from concept through to production.

The position is entirely internal-facing, with no customer interaction or video call responsibilities. Success in this role comes from being organised, adaptable, and comfortable switching between creative, technical, and administrative tasks as business needs evolve.

## Requirements

**Design Support**

- Prepare CAD boards based on design briefs.
- Apply colourways, trims, graphics, and design features to garment concepts.
- Update and revise designs based on internal feedback.
- Create presentation-ready design layouts using Adobe Illustrator.
- Organise and maintain design files and artwork libraries.

**Product Development Support**

- Prepare and update technical packs using existing templates.
- Assist with garment specifications, construction details, and points of measure.
- Ensure product documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Support product revisions throughout the sampling and production process.

**Cross-Functional Support**

- Assist both the Design and Garment Technical teams as required.
- Provide coverage during planned leave or unexpected absences within the product team.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and deadlines.

**Business Support Projects**

**During quieter periods, you'll also contribute to projects such as:**

- Factory and supplier research.
- Organising and cataloguing design assets.
- Improving internal documentation and file management.
- Supporting other product-related initiatives across the business.

**What We're Looking For**

**Required Skills & Experience**

- Previous experience in a Fashion Design, Garment Design, or Product Development Support role.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience creating or updating CAD drawings.
- Understanding of garment technical packs and product documentation.
- Ability to accurately interpret design briefs and implement revisions.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with the initiative to identify opportunities to contribute beyond assigned tasks.

**Nice to Have**

- Experience preparing garment construction details.
- Understanding of garment measurements and points of measure (POM).
- Exposure to apparel manufacturing or production processes.
- Experience supporting both design and garment technical teams.
- Experience with supplier or factory sourcing.

**What Success Looks Like**

- CADs and design assets are prepared accurately and on schedule.
- Technical packs are consistently updated with minimal errors.
- Design revisions are completed efficiently based on feedback.
- Product documentation remains organised and easy to access.
- The Design and Technical teams receive dependable day-to-day support.
- Additional projects are completed proactively during quieter periods.
- The role provides seamless support during team member leave, ensuring continuity across product development.

**Why Join?**

This is an opportunity to work with a collaborative product development team where your contributions directly support the creation of new products from concept through production. If you enjoy combining creativity with technical precision, thrive in a dynamic environment, and are eager to expand your experience across both design and product development, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make an impact behind the scenes.

**Work Arrangement & Expectations:**

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

- Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
- Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
