# Front End WordPress Developer (008-01300)

> Hunt St · Philippines (Remote) · Full-time · Posted 2026-09-08

**Workplace:** remote

**Department:** 008

## Description

**Looking for Philippines-based candidates**

**Job Role:** Front End WordPress Developer

**Compensation range:** $3,0000 AUD - $4,000 AUD / Monthly

**Engagement type:** Independent Contractor Agreement

**Work Schedule:** This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

**Who We Are:** At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

**Who The Client Is:** An Australian digital marketing agency specialising in helping service-based businesses strengthen their online presence and generate more customers.

The business takes a strategic, results-focused approach to digital marketing, combining creativity with data and performance insights rather than simply delivering individual marketing tasks. Its work spans website design and development, SEO, Google Ads, social media, paid social, email marketing, and graphic design, giving clients access to a broad digital capability under one team.

**Role Overview:** We are seeking a Front-End & Full Stack Web Developer to take ownership of websites from sitemap and UX planning through to development, launch, and ongoing maintenance. You’ll work primarily in WordPress, building service-based websites, landing pages, and campaign pages that are polished, responsive, user-friendly, and built to perform.

This is a hands-on role for an autonomous developer with strong front-end and design skills. You’ll collaborate with creative, content, SEO, and marketing teams across the full website lifecycle, from wireframing and development through to QA, launch, troubleshooting, and optimisation. We’re looking for someone whose portfolio demonstrates strong UI/UX, creativity, and thoughtful web design — not just technical WordPress capability.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Develop and maintain websites primarily in WordPress, working within existing template environments where required.
- Build both single-page landing pages and full multi-page informational/service-based websites.
- Develop high-converting landing pages for performance and marketing campaigns.
- Translate sitemaps, wireframes, UX concepts, and designs into intuitive website structures and user journeys.
- Assist with sitemap development, page architecture, content hierarchy, and website planning.
- Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- Build websites using WordPress, Gutenberg, Elementor, and other relevant page builders.
- Work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other front-end technologies.
- Develop reusable components, sections, and templates where appropriate.
- Implement forms, integrations, tracking, pop-ups, plugins, and other website functionality.
- Work within cPanel and hosting environments, including domains, DNS, SSL, nameservers, and email configuration.
- Manage website migrations, domain changes, DNS updates, hosting setup, and launches as required.
- Conduct thorough website QA and troubleshoot technical issues before and after launch.
- Identify and resolve bugs, broken functionality, layout issues, and performance problems.
- Support ongoing website maintenance, updates, security, optimisation, and troubleshooting.
- Implement SEO fundamentals throughout the build, including site structure, metadata, headings, internal linking, URLs, and technical considerations.
- Apply an understanding of SEO, AEO, and technical SEO when developing websites.
- Ensure websites are accessible, responsive, performant, and built around strong UX principles.
- Collaborate with designers, content writers, SEO specialists, and account managers.
- Participate in website strategy, planning, and technical discussions.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve website functionality, usability, and user experience rather than simply executing instructions.
- Stay current with WordPress, web development, UI/UX, and emerging web technologies.
- Take ownership of projects from initial brief through to launch without requiring day-to-day direction

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

- 5 years of relevant web development experience.
- Strong experience developing websites in WordPress.
- Strong front-end development skills combined with strong design awareness.
- Excellent understanding of UI/UX principles.
- A strong eye for layout, typography, spacing, hierarchy, visual consistency, and overall user experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing sitemaps and website architecture.
- Strong experience with Elementor and Gutenberg, as well as other WordPress page builders.
- Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- PHP / WordPress theme development.
- WordPress custom post types and custom fields.
- Advanced Elementor development.
- Gutenberg / block development.
- Good working knowledge of JavaScript.
- Solid understanding of responsive web development.
- Understanding of SEO, AEO, and technical SEO fundamentals.
- Experience working with cPanel.
- Understanding of domains, DNS, nameservers, SSL, and hosting.
- Experience troubleshooting WordPress websites.
- Experience with website migrations, hosting setup, and launches.
- Understanding of website performance and page speed.
- Experience working with forms, plugins, integrations, and tracking.
- Strong QA skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret designs and turn them into polished, functional websites.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently troubleshoot technical and UX issues.
- Ability to think beyond the brief and identify opportunities to improve the user experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a creative and marketing team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work autonomously.
- A portfolio demonstrating real creativity, innovation, and strong design thinking, rather than simply showcasing technical WordPress builds.

- Experience with Bricks or other WordPress builders.
- Experience with WooCommerce.
- Experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Search Console.
- Familiarity with schema markup.
- Website accessibility / WCAG knowledge.
- Experience with Git / version control.
- Experience with APIs and third-party integrations.
- Knowledge of web security.
- Experience working with staging environments.
- Figma experience and the ability to work from design files.
- Graphic design skills.

**Work Arrangement & Expectations:**

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

- Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
- Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
