Compensation range: $2,500 AUD - $3,500 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: A growing Australian accounting firm that supports a diverse range of businesses with accounting, tax, compliance, and advisory services. Operating as a fully remote team, they value trust, quality work, strong client relationships, and people who can work independently while contributing to a collaborative culture.

Role Overview: We're looking for an experienced Accountant who can hit the ground running on annual accounts, tax returns, and BAS preparation; and who brings more than just processing capability. You think critically, ask good questions, and take ownership of your work. You'll be embedded directly with the Citrine team, working as a long-term contractor and growing alongside the business over time.

Key Responsibilities: 

-   Complete income tax returns across a range of entity types
-   Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS)
-   Manage client files within Xero and Xero Practice Manager (XPM)
-   Identify issues, flag anomalies, and proactively communicate with internal stakeholders
-   Maintain accurate and organised client records in line with firm standards 
-   Contribute to process improvements and bring a solutions-oriented mindset

## Requirements

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**

-   3–4+ years of experience in a public accounting or advisory firm 
-   Strong working knowledge of Xero (required); XPM and Xero Tax experience highly regarded
-   Exposure to BGL (SMSF) or MYOB/QuickBooks is a bonus 
-   CPA/CA not essential — we value experience and demonstrated capability over credentials
-   Insert more below if needed Excellent written and verbal English communication
-   Genuinely curious, commercially minded, and not afraid to think outside the box 
-   Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
-   Reliable home office setup with strong internet and backup connectivity
