**Job Role:** Senior Accountant

**Work Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM AEST/AEDT

**Compensation range:** $2,500 AUD / Monthly (before tax and deductions)

**Who The Client Is:** They are an established Australian accounting and advisory practice supporting a range of individuals and businesses with accounting, tax, bookkeeping and financial services. The team takes a practical and client-focused approach, working closely with clients to keep their finances organised, meet their obligations and support their ongoing business needs. They value accuracy, reliability, strong client relationships and efficient use of modern accounting systems.

**Role Overview:** This role will support a boutique Australian accounting practice providing accounting, taxation, bookkeeping and business advisory services to individuals, sole traders, contractors and small to medium-sized businesses. The Senior Accountant will take ownership of client accounts and compliance work while providing accurate financial information and practical advice to help clients manage their businesses, improve profitability and meet their tax and reporting obligations.

**Key Responsibilities:** 

-   Prepare annual financial statements and Australian tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, companies and SMSFs.
-   Prepare BAS and IAS, including supporting reconciliations and workpapers.
-   Maintain clear digital workpapers, respond to review points and keep allocated jobs progressing towards completion.
-   Assist with bookkeeping, payroll, TPAR, FBT, Payroll Tax and tax planning requirements.
-   Communicate with clients as required to gather information and resolve queries.

## Requirements

-   5+ years of experience in public practice, with a focus on Australian tax and business services.
-   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
-   Completed or currently working towards CA/CPA qualification.
-   Strong knowledge of Australian tax, with experience preparing high-level tax returns, Business Activity Statements, Fringe Benefits Tax returns, Payroll Tax and other related tax lodgements.
-   Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
-   Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
-   Strong Xero and Microsoft Excel skills, with confidence in learning new applications.
-   Experience with HandiLedger and BGL is highly regarded but not essential.
