## Description

**POSITION PURPOSE**

Under general guidance of the Director, the Manager of Women’s Imaging Center will provide leadership, technical support, and ensure regulatory compliance within all modalities of the Women’s Imaging Center, including: Ultrasound, Mammography & Dexa. Ensures staffing coverage; collaborate with radiologists, physicians, staff, other leaders on a daily basis to ensure safe patient care and patient access to clinical services. Responsible for the completion of staff orientation, safety and procedural training; this includes staff educational development and student training.  Assist Director with budget and equipment planning as well as coordinate the maintenance of all Imaging and support equipment utilized within the facility. May also work as a Staff Technologist as needed.

1.         Oversees and manages the daily operations to include the coordination of staff schedules.

2.         Evaluates the operations, programs and resources to assure the safe and appropriate delivery of diagnostic and/or therapeutic patient care.

3.         Manages the Women’s Imaging Center operations for all modalities to maintain all licenses and certifications required by State and Federal regulations.

4.         Ensures positive relations between all customers of the department – physicians, public, patients, and other departments.

5.         Ensures orientation, initial & ongoing competencies and performance evaluations are completed timely.

6.         Ensures that all aspects of clinical/administrative operations are conducted and documented in compliance with relevant internal policies, standards and procedures and applicable regulatory requirements; assesses, on a continuous basis, services, patient outcomes, quality control, patient satisfaction, staffing needs and operational effectiveness to ensure optimal care delivery; ensures that internal controls are sufficient to provide for accurate, complete and compliant programs and processes; identifies need for changes in standards, programs and services, and develops recommendations for consideration by the Director.

7.         Collaborates to address and resolve problems, share information and enhance overall effectiveness/productivity of the center.

8.         Contributes to physician/ community outreach and marketing of the Women’s Imaging Center services.

9.         Functions as liaison and role model in working with staff and other disciplines. 

10.     Functions competently in the staff role as needed.

11.     Active participant in the CQI process for the department and hospital.

12.     Ability to effectively organize and prioritize task in order to complete assignments within the allotted timeframe to maintain standard workflow.

13.     Ability to work effectively as a team member who is flexible, cooperative and willing to assist others.

14.     Provides feedback to Director related to new and replacement equipment, and operational concerns.

15.     Maintains patient confidentiality and appropriate handling of PHI.

16.     Abides by the HMH Legal Compliance Code of Conduct.

17.     Performs other related duties as assigned.

**LATITUDE, CONTACTS/INTERACTIONS**

All positions of Huntsville Memorial Hospital are part of an interdisciplinary team, and as such, participate in the care and service delivery process through effective interaction with other team members.  Primarily interacts with hospital staff, medical staff, patients, and visitors.

## Requirements

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Education: Completion of formal radiology technology program required; bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

Experience: Two years of clinical experience required. One year of supervisory experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification & Registry: Texas Medical Board Medical Radiologic Technologist required.  Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment required. 

Required Skills:Strong verbal and written communications, and active listening skills to work collaboratively with all levels within the organization.Must show excellent attention to detail

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS**

Medium strength is required to position patients for examination or treatment.

Frequent: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing & walking.

Occasional: reaching, bending, squatting, climbing kneeling, twisting.

Visual and hearing acuity required; depth perception needed to examine exposed film for pertinent details. Work is mostly inside, with good ventilation and comfortable temperature.

Possible exposure to: toxic/caustic chemicals or detergents, moving mechanical parts, potential electric shock, radiant energy, communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens.
