We were founded in 2000, from the beginning we sought to do something different. We aimed to serve younger adults—in their 20s and 30s, 40s and 50s—with physical disabilities, many who needed so much daily assistance that others thought they had to live in a nursing home. Today, as more young adults join our membership, our long-time members grow older with us, and we expand to serve even more senior adults, we believe what our name implies: that Independence is what all of our members want, and that our Care System --responsive, coordinated, expert, empowering, respectful and flexible—is key to safeguarding that independence.
ICS Mission:
ICS is dedicated to supporting adults with physical disabilities and chronic conditions to live at home and participate fully in community life.
