## Description

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian nationals for the position below at the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.

**Position:        Mechanic I**

**Contract:**       3-years renewable contract                                            

**Location: Ibadan**

**Closing Date: 29 July, 2026.**

**DUTIES:** 

-   Carry out electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on vehicles.
-   Carry out auto electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair.
-   Carry out recovery of vehicle(s) at the stipulated location.
-   Carry out cleaning of workshop floor and equipment respectively.
-   Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

## Requirements

**QUALIFICATION:**

O’ Level with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience or Trade Test III with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment. Possession of any other recognized automotive technical certification will be an added advantage.

**COMPETENCIES:**

The ideal candidate must have:

-   Proficiency in automotive technology repairs, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-   Ability to work independently under minimal supervision while demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt.
-   Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics (KSAOs) required performing the role effectively.
