## Description

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigeria nationals for the position below at the Institute’s Headquarters in Ibadan.

**Position:        Research Technician II (2 Positions)**

**Contract:**       2-years renewable contract                                            

**Location: Ibadan**

**Closing Date: 12 June 2026**

**DUTIES:** 

-   Drive within and outside IITA, convey staff and casual to and from field.
-   Supervise subordinate staff, Polytechnic and College of Agriculture students on Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES).
-   Assist in planning and establishment of laboratory, screenhouse and field trials and data collection
-   Assist in data collection and Trial management.
-   Perform screenhouse trial management and making crosses.
-   Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

## Requirements

**QUALIFICATION:**

OND in Crop Production, Agricultural Science or related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience performing a similar role in a well-structured environment.

**COMPETENCIES:**

The ideal candidate must have:

-   Basic knowledge of crop management operations in experimental fields.
-   Ability to perform multiple tasks under pressure.
-   Good interpersonal relationships with other colleagues.
-   Good time management.
-   Knowledge of cowpea crosses.
