## Description

### About Intellect

Intellect is a leading mental health benefits company, trusted by forward-thinking employers, insurers and governments to deliver care that is local, personalised and effective at scale. Today, we serve more than 4 million people across over 100 countries through our technology platform and global network of clinical providers.

Our platform supports workforces at companies including Dell, ByteDance, Visa, Shell, McDonald’s and hundreds more, enabling organisations to provide accessible, culturally relevant and high-quality mental healthcare to their people.

Driven by our mission to make mental healthcare accessible to everyone, Intellect combines technology, clinical care and local expertise to deliver meaningful outcomes across diverse markets and populations.

### The Role

Australia is a priority growth market for Intellect, where we have established a strong and growing corporate mental health benefits business. We are now expanding our work across the insurance and workers’ compensation ecosystem.

Building on Intellect’s Australian presence, enterprise relationships, technology platform and clinical capabilities, the Market Development Lead will shape and execute this expansion, develop differentiated solutions, and convert priority opportunities into meaningful revenue and scalable programmes.

This is a market-building and commercial role spanning strategy, proposition development, business development, partnerships and execution. You will develop a deep understanding of the ecosystem, identify the most attractive segments and use cases, and translate them into compelling offerings, commercial models and routes to market.

You will be expected not only to shape the strategy, but also to originate and convert commercial opportunities. This includes building a qualified pipeline, leading customer development, securing paid engagements and remaining accountable as successful programmes move towards scale.

You will also help shape the operating capabilities, clinical and service-delivery models, technology, data, partnerships and team requirements that support effective execution and sustainable growth.

This is not an advisory or research-oriented position. You will be responsible for moving from market insight and opportunity identification through to customer conversion, implementation and measurable outcomes.

This opportunity may suit a management consultant with meaningful experience across insurance, workers’ compensation or adjacent healthcare sectors who is ready to become a hands-on operator. It may equally suit an industry professional who has demonstrated the ability to build new propositions, partnerships, capabilities or areas of business.

This is a senior, high-ownership role working closely with Intellect’s Australia leadership, Partnerships team and broader product, clinical and operational functions. As the business develops, there may be an opportunity to take on broader commercial or operating ownership and build or lead the capabilities required to support it.

### Your Responsibilities

### Develop the Market Strategy

- Build a detailed understanding of Australia’s insurance and workers’ compensation ecosystem, including its participants, incentives, funding flows, buyers and decision-makers
- Understand how psychological-injury services are currently procured, delivered and monetised, and where existing models are underperforming
- Identify and prioritise the jurisdictions, customer segments, use cases and opportunities where Intellect can create the strongest clinical and commercial value
- Assess market size, competitive dynamics, buying processes, regulatory considerations and barriers to adoption
- Translate market insight into a focused development strategy, clear priorities and a staged commercial roadmap

### Develop Solutions and Commercial Models

- Identify unmet customer and claimant needs and translate them into differentiated products, services and propositions
- Work with product, clinical, operations, commercial and other teams to develop solutions that are valuable to customers and viable for Intellect to deliver
- Build the strategic, financial and operating case for priority opportunities
- Develop appropriate pricing, contracting, funding and delivery models for different customers and use cases
- Validate and refine propositions with insurers, employers, scheme participants, partners and other stakeholders to strengthen commercial and delivery viability
- Define the clinical, operational and commercial outcomes required to demonstrate value and support broader adoption

### Build and Convert Commercial Opportunities

- Map the relevant buyers, budget owners, procurement routes and commercial decision-making processes across insurers, schemes, claims-service providers, employers and self-insurers
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline of priority commercial opportunities
- Lead customer discovery and co-design conversations that translate buyer needs into viable solutions
- Own opportunities from initial engagement through proposition development, proposal, negotiation, pilot and commercial agreement
- Work closely with Intellect’s Partnerships and other commercial teams while remaining directly accountable for the progress and conversion of this market
- Establish clear commercial goals and track pipeline quality, conversion, expected revenue and time to close
- Convert priority opportunities into paid engagements that generate revenue, evidence and referenceable outcomes for broader market expansion

### Build Strategic Relationships and Partnerships

- Develop trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across insurers, workers’ compensation schemes, employers, brokers, claims-service providers, healthcare providers and other relevant organisations
- Represent Intellect credibly in senior customer and ecosystem conversations
- Identify partnerships that strengthen Intellect’s proposition, distribution, delivery capabilities or market access
- Structure partnerships with clear strategic value, commercial logic, responsibilities and success measures
- Use market relationships to deepen Intellect’s understanding of customer priorities and accelerate viable opportunities

### Strengthen Delivery and Scale

- Move priority opportunities from concept into defined pilots, programmes and commercial engagements
- Shape how Intellect combines its existing capabilities, targeted hiring and strategic partners to support successful delivery at scale
- Define the required operating model across clinical delivery, provider coverage, service operations, technology, data and reporting, customer management and governance
- Ensure priority opportunities account for relevant clinical, regulatory and jurisdiction-specific requirements
- Coordinate across commercial, product, clinical, operations, legal, finance and technology teams to implement programmes effectively
- Track clinical, operational and commercial outcomes and use the results to improve the proposition and establish repeatable playbooks
- Develop a staged capability roadmap aligned with validated demand and commercial progress

## Requirements

- You typically have approximately 5-12 years of relevant experience across management consulting, insurance, workers’ compensation, claims, healthcare, occupational health, market development or commercial strategy
- You may come from consulting, with meaningful experience advising organisations across Australia’s insurance, workers’ compensation or adjacent healthcare ecosystem, or from an industry role in which you have built new propositions, partnerships, capabilities or areas of business
- Regardless of background, you bring a strong understanding of how the relevant ecosystem operates, or clear evidence that you can develop that depth rapidly
- You have repeatedly demonstrated that you can build from ambiguity, moving from problem definition and strategy through to commercialisation and implementation
- You understand how complex services are bought, funded and delivered, and can identify the stakeholders who materially influence commercial decisions
- You have experience originating and advancing complex B2B or B2B2C opportunities, including developing propositions, navigating multiple stakeholders and securing commercial commitment
- You have strong strategic and commercial judgement and can distinguish genuinely attractive opportunities from interesting but low-value possibilities
- You can structure complex problems, conduct rigorous analysis and translate insight into clear priorities and action
- You can develop new propositions and commercial models rather than relying only on established products or sales playbooks
- You are credible with senior external stakeholders and can build trusted relationships across a complex ecosystem
- You can move from market strategy into detailed implementation and remain accountable for commercial and operating outcomes
- You understand that successful market development requires strong internal delivery capabilities, not only external relationships
- You can work effectively across product, clinical, commercial, operational and technical teams without relying solely on formal authority
- You combine high standards with low ego, sound judgement and a willingness to work through operational detail
- Experience in mental health, psychological injury, injury management, occupational rehabilitation, employee benefits or digital health is helpful

Above all, you are motivated by the opportunity to build a significant area of growth while improving how people experiencing psychological injury receive timely, effective support.
