We are currently looking for a **Welding Expert specialised in aluminium frame structures** to support a manufacturing project with a supplier based in Lisbon, Portugal.

The selected professional will be responsible for providing technical welding expertise and **hands-on training to the supplier's welding operators**, with a particular focus on the welding of **40 mm thick aluminium components** used in frame structures.

### Main responsibilities

-   Provide technical expertise and guidance on welding processes for aluminium frame structures.
-   Train and coach the supplier's welding operators in the correct techniques and best practices for welding **40 mm thick aluminium parts**.
-   Demonstrate and supervise welding activities on site.
-   Assess operators' welding techniques and provide technical feedback and recommendations for improvement.
-   Support the supplier in achieving the required weld quality and consistency.
-   Review and advise on welding parameters, joint preparation, welding sequence and applicable techniques.
-   Identify potential welding defects and recommend corrective actions.
-   Ensure welding activities are carried out in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications, standards and project requirements.
-   Work closely with the supplier's production and quality teams to resolve technical welding issues.
-   Provide technical support and report on training activities, findings and recommendations.

The assignment will take place at **Metallowest in Lisbon, Portugal**.

## Requirements

-   Proven professional experience as a Welding Engineer, Welding Specialist or Welding Expert, preferably with extensive hands-on experience.
-   Strong expertise in aluminium welding, particularly for structural applications.
-   Demonstrated experience welding thick aluminium sections/components, including approximately 40 mm thickness.
-   Experience in welding aluminium frame structures or similar heavy/structural fabrication.
-   Strong knowledge of welding processes, parameters, joint preparation and welding techniques for aluminium.
-   Ability to train, coach and supervise welding operators in a practical manufacturing environment.
-   Ability to identify welding defects and provide effective technical solutions.
-   Knowledge of applicable welding standards and quality requirements.
-   Relevant welding qualifications or certifications will be considered an advantage, such as IWE/EWE, CWI or equivalent.
-   Previous experience working with industrial suppliers or manufacturers is highly desirable.
-   Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with production and quality teams.
-   Fluent or professional working level of English.
-   Availability to work on site in Lisbon, Portugal during the required training and support period.
