We are currently looking for an experienced **Contract Engineer** to support the management and administration of the Construction Contract at yard level, ensuring contractual compliance, effective change management and proper control of commercial and contractual risks.

Job Description

Reporting to the **Yard Manager**, the Contract Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the Construction Contract at yard level and ensuring that contractual requirements, obligations and scope are properly managed throughout the project.

Key responsibilities include:

-   Oversee the **Construction Contract at yard level**, ensuring full compliance with contractual terms, scope definition, obligations and applicable procedures.
-   Manage **official contractual correspondence, claims prevention, Change Requests (CRs) and contractual notifications** in strict accordance with the CLIENT's **Management of Change (MOC)** procedure.
-   Evaluate **contractual entitlement, cost and schedule impacts** associated with variations, claims and any deviation from the agreed scope.
-   Maintain comprehensive **contractual documentation registers and traceability records**, ensuring that all relevant information is properly documented and suitable for audit and potential dispute resolution.
-   Coordinate with **Yard Management, QA/QC, Planning and Engineering** to develop technically and contractually sound responses to submissions and communications from the Construction Contractor.
-   Support **project controls and cost management** through the validation of claims, progress measurements and preparation of the final account.
-   Monitor contractual performance and identify potential contractual risks, deviations and exposure throughout the project.
-   **Promptly alert the Yard Manager and Yard Construction Manager (YCM)** of any contractual risk or potential issue as soon as it is identified.
-   Support the project team in maintaining clear contractual records and ensuring that project decisions and changes are properly documented and traceable.

## Requirements

-   University degree in **Engineering, Law, Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management** or a related discipline.
-   Proven experience in **Contract Engineering / Contract Management**, preferably within industrial, offshore, naval, Oil & Gas, EPC or similar projects.
-   Experience managing construction contracts and contractual matters in a **yard, construction site or industrial project environment**.
-   Strong knowledge of **contract administration, change management, claims management and contractual risk assessment**.
-   Experience evaluating the **cost and schedule impact of variations, claims and scope changes**.
-   Good understanding of project controls, progress measurement and cost management.
-   Experience working with **contractual documentation, correspondence and claims records**.
-   Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including **Construction, Engineering, Planning, QA/QC and Project Controls**.
-   Strong analytical, organisational and negotiation skills.
-   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-   Professional level of **English**.
-   Ability to work in a demanding, multidisciplinary and international project environment.
