## Description

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist with deep expertise in Linear/Integer Optimization and strong MLOps skills to join our client's team and take ownership of production-grade optimization models. In this role, you will maintain, enhance, and scale a production optimization model, working across the full lifecycle from data wrangling to stakeholder communication. This is not a role limited to plots and presentations - you will need to deliver clear, actionable insights to stakeholders and translate their feedback back into the AI product. You will work within a sophisticated Python codebase on Google Cloud Platform, so a solid understanding of software architecture and production ML environments is essential.

-   Maintain and enhance the existing optimization model by proactively identifying shortcomings and implementing improvements
-   Present model outputs and analytical findings to stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions
-   Ensure the robustness and efficiency of the deployed AI product on GCP through continuous monitoring and maintenance
-   Improve the data preparation and wrangling pipeline, integrating additional data sources to enrich model inputs
-   Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Product Managers to improve performance, reliability, and scalability
-   Implement MLOps best practices for deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of ML models
-   Conduct ad hoc data analyses and develop visualizations to support data-driven decision-making

## Requirements

-   Solid knowledge and experience with discrete optimization models (Integer Programming, Mixed Integer Programming)
-   Proven experience developing and deploying ML models in the cloud, preferably on GCP (beyond notebook-based work)
-   Strong Python programming skills - clean, efficient, modular, production-ready code
-   Hands-on experience with MLOps and CI/CD pipelines, ideally on GCP
-   Strong SQL skills for data manipulation and analysis
-   Experience building robust data wrangling and aggregation pipelines; familiarity with dbt
-   Comfortable working in Agile, cross-functional teams
-   Strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in complex, ambiguous problem domains
-   Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

**Nice to Have**

-   Experience with optimization solvers (e.g. Gurobi, CPLEX, OR-Tools, Pyomo) is a plus
-   Familiarity with DBT for data transformation
-   Experience presenting technical results to non-technical stakeholders
-   Comfortable working in complex, ambiguous problem domains
-   Experience with data visualization tools for ad hoc analysis and reporting
