## Description

We are looking for a motivated and safety-conscious **Semi-Skilled CAT 3** to support mechanical operations within high-risk industrial and petrochemical environments. This role involves assisting qualified tradespersons with fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance activities relating to tanks, piping systems, and structural components.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on industrial or **petrochemical projects** and will be comfortable working in demanding site environments where quality, safety, and teamwork are critical. You should be hands-on, eager to learn, and capable of supporting mechanical teams to meet strict project deadlines and quality standards.

**Responsibilities**

-   Assist boilermakers, welders, and pipefitters with fabrication, assembly, and installation activities.
-   Prepare materials, tools and components for fabrication and assembly.
-   Support installation of piping systems, tanks, and structural components according to technical and isometric drawings.
-   Perform basic measuring, cutting, grinding, and fit-up support tasks.
-   Read and follow basic technical and isometric drawings under supervision.
-   Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
-   Follow project quality requirements, ISO standards, and QCP procedures
-   Adhere to all site-specific HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, and safe working practices.
-   Wear and maintain appropriate PPE at all times.
-   Report hazards, unsafe practices, equipment faults, and non-conformances promptly.
-   Work collaboratively with supervisors, QA/QC personnel, safety team, and other trades on site
-   Collaborate with team members, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve project goals.

## Requirements

**Qualifications**

-   Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
-   Valid Working at Heights certificate.
-   Valid Confined Space Entry certificate.
-   Knowledge of Permit-to-Work systems.
-   Valid driver’s license advantageous.

**Experience**

-   3-5 years' experience working on tanks, piping, and structural projects within industrial or petrochemical environments.
-   Previous experience in fuel terminals, refineries, tank refurbishment, fabrication, or piping installation environments is preferred.
-   Exposure to high-risk industrial environments and shutdown/project-based work is advantageous.
-   Completed apprenticeship advantageous.

**Knowledge & Skills**

-   Basic fabrication, mechanical assembly, and support techniques.
-   Basic **weld prep, grinding, cutting, and fit-up support.**
-   Reading and following **technical and isometric drawings** under supervision.
-   Tank repair, refurbishment, and structural assembly support.
-   ISO-compliant **QCPs, safety protocols, and HSE procedures**.
-   Awareness of mechanical, civil, painting, and electrical safety risks
