# Associate Director - Mid Mile Transport

## Description

**Job Purpose**

Lead the development and execution of nationwide mid-mile transportation strategy to ensure operational excellence, cost optimization, service reliability, network scalability, and sustainable growth across wholesale distribution operations. Drive transformation initiatives through digitalization, automation, network redesign, and strategic partnerships while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.

**Key Accountabilities**

1\. Transportation Strategy & Network Design

-   Define and execute the company's Mid Mile Transportation Strategy.
-   Develop long-term transportation network plans to support business expansion and future growth.
-   Lead transportation network optimization, route redesign, hub-and-spoke strategies, and capacity planning.
-   Evaluate emerging logistics technologies and transportation innovations.

2\. End-to-End Transportation Governance

-   Establish transportation governance framework, policies, standards, and operating models.
-   Ensure service consistency across all regions and distribution centers.
-   Monitor transportation performance and service quality through enterprise-level KPIs.
-   Drive transportation risk management and business continuity planning.

3\. Financial & Cost Leadership

-   Own annual transportation budget and long-range financial planning.
-   Deliver transportation productivity and cost-saving initiatives.
-   Optimize fleet utilization, transportation assets, and operating expenses.
-   Develop cost models and transportation analytics to support strategic decision-making.

4\. Transportation Transformation & Digitalization

-   Lead implementation of Transportation Management System (TMS), Control Tower, AI Routing, and Advanced Analytics.
-   Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives.
-   Utilize data-driven insights to improve efficiency, visibility, and service levels.
-   Champion innovation and continuous improvement culture.

5\. Vendor & Strategic Partner Management

-   Establish strategic partnerships with transportation providers and logistics partners.
-   Lead major transportation tenders and contract negotiations.
-   Ensure supplier performance meets business expectations and compliance requirements.
-   Develop long-term carrier management strategy.

6\. Safety, Compliance & Sustainability

-   Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and corporate governance requirements.
-   Lead transportation safety programs and risk mitigation initiatives.
-   Drive ESG and sustainability objectives, including carbon reduction programs.
-   Promote safe and ethical transportation operations.

7\. Leadership & Organization Development

-   Lead national transportation organization.
-   Develop leadership capability and succession pipelines.
-   Drive employee engagement and high-performance culture.
-   Foster collaboration across Supply Chain, Commercial, Procurement, Finance, and Operations teams.

## Requirements

-   Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. / MBA or Master's Degree preferred.
-   Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in Transportation, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
-   Minimum 8 years in senior leadership roles.
-   Experience in Wholesale, Retail, FMCG, E-Commerce, Distribution, or Large-scale Logistics Operations.
-   Proven success in transportation network optimization and logistics transformation projects.
