## Description

For a Leading Dry bulk Shipping Company with an extensive Newbuilding Programme: Naval Architect

**Responsibilities**

-   Coordinate and monitor the Plan Approval process for the Company’s newbuilding vessels, covering Hull, Machinery and Electrical disciplines.
-   Review and evaluate shipyard drawings, plans, calculations and technical documentation, providing technical comments and recommendations where required.
-   Liaise closely with shipyards, classification societies, equipment makers and the Company’s site supervision teams to ensure timely resolution of technical matters.
-   Monitor the status of drawings, plans, calculations and technical submissions, ensuring timely follow-up of pending approvals and revisions.
-   Ensure compliance of vessel design and technical documentation with approved specifications, Classification requirements and applicable Statutory regulations.
-   Provide technical support throughout the various stages of vessel design, construction, testing and commissioning.
-   Review technical proposals and documentation submitted by shipyards and makers, identifying discrepancies and ensuring alignment with project requirements.
-   Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address technical issues and develop effective solutions.
-   Support the Technical/Newbuilding team in monitoring project progress and ensuring the timely and successful delivery of newbuilding vessels.
-   Maintain accurate records of technical comments, approvals, revisions and outstanding matters throughout the newbuilding process.
-   Ensure all assigned activities are carried out in accordance with Company procedures, quality standards, Class requirements and applicable regulations.

## Requirements

-   Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a related discipline.
-   4+ years of relevant experience in Newbuilding, Plan Approval and/or On-Site Shipbuilding Supervision.
-   Previous experience with Dry Bulk vessels / Bulk Carriers will be highly valued.
-   Experience working with shipyards, Classification Societies and/or equipment makers will be considered a strong asset.
-   Solid understanding of ship design, construction, Class and Statutory requirements.
-   Strong ability to review and comment on Hull, Machinery and Electrical drawings and technical documentation.
-   Good understanding of the end-to-end newbuilding process, from design and Plan Approval through construction, testing and delivery.
-   Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
-   Proficiency in MS Office and relevant technical / engineering software.
-   A proactive, hands-on and solution-oriented approach.
