**Workplace:** hybrid

**Department:** LinkedIn

## Description

Our client is a respected, mission-driven nonprofit that supports individuals and families affected across the greater Los Angeles area. They are a small, close team, and every role has a direct hand in the help the organization provides.

They are hiring a **Bilingual Programs Manager** to lead the direct services that reach the community. The work centers on three areas: an 800 Helpline, programs for individuals and families, and community education. Many programs are delivered in both Spanish and English, so this role is bilingual. You will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the board's Program Committee to set and carry out the yearly plan for programs and services.

You will manage, plan, run, and improve these programs, supervise staff and volunteers, track results, and find new ways to reach people, including online.

**Run the 800 Helpline (information and referral)**

- Manage the Helpline and set clear protocols so callers across the region get fast, useful help.
- Direct the team that handles incoming calls, completes intake, assesses needs, and shares information by phone, email, and mail.
- Refer callers to programs and community services, and provide case management and follow-up where possible.
- Oversee the Emergency Assistance Program and the Safety Resource Program (pillboxes and ID bracelets).
- Coordinate with the national office, which manages the shared database and referral protocols, to keep data, quality, and ideas flowing both ways.
- Partner with the Spanish Program Specialist to keep materials current and right for a diverse community.

**Lead community education**

- Plan and deliver First Aid trainings in schools and organizations.
- Coordinate the Brain Exhibit to teach students about brain health and seizure first aid.
- Grow the program's reach by recruiting, training, and managing parents, advocates, and professionals to deliver education themselves.

**Lead patient and family education**

- Partner with centers and community organizations to run educational programs across the region, with a focus on underserved areas.
- Build new partnerships and keep strong ties with current partners so people get the latest information and treatments.
- Provide one-on-one education and advocacy, run sessions for the newly diagnosed, and bring in speakers on self-advocacy.

**Manage supportive care programs**

- Plan, run, and evaluate social, recreational, educational, and therapeutic programs.
- Programs may include Family Weekend Camp, Family Days and social outings, Summer Camp, Adult Social and Retreat events, art therapy sessions, Kids Crew events, and monthly support groups.
- Make sure every program meets the organization's standards, even when other staff help run them.

**Support the wider team and mission**

- Help the Executive Director guide other program staff.
- Serve as an ambassador in the community and take part in most organizational activities.
- Deliver programs in virtual formats and keep resources easy to find online.
- Work with the Development team on grant requests and reports, and help maintain donor relationships.
- Support teammates across awareness, advocacy, and signature events, since these areas overlap.
