We are looking for a part-time Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our Japanese Saturday School, specifically in the 3 year-old program for the 2026-2027 School Year and starting August 29th, 2026. This role will be from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm on Saturdays (with 30 minute break) and reports into the Japanese Saturday School Director. The ideal candidate will be compassionate and self-motivated as well as possessing an innate joy of working with young children. He/she will be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment. **Responsibilities** \- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment \- Working with the lead teacher to monitor the class schedule \- Going over lesson material with students individually or in small groups \- Ensuring the classroom environment is safe, clean and tidy \- Overseeing students during non-classroom times including in-between classes, during lunch, recess, and on-field excursions \- Collaborating with lead teachers to recognize issues students are facing and recommend solutions \- Helping lead teachers to create lesson plans \- During camps, participating as an Lead Teacher \- Complying with state, school, and class rules and regulations. \- Attending all training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings ## Requirements \- High school diploma or equivalent qualification \- Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant field is preferred \- Japanese fluency required \- A minimum of 2 years experience as a teaching assistant or similar role \- Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices \- Must have a compassionate and positive attitude \- Outstanding interpersonal and presentation abilities \- Preferred candidate will have a current U.S. work visa, if applicable ## Benefits This role is paid at $28.52 per hour.[](https://apply.workable.com/lyceum-kennedy/j/2E5AB3A173/apply/) ## Apply [Apply at Kennedy International School](https://apply.workable.com/kennedyinternational/j/4BFC424BAE/apply) --- Powered by [Workable](https://www.workable.com)
