An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced **Operations Manager** to join a well-established and growing steel manufacturing business based in Toowoomba.

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a busy manufacturing facility. You'll lead production, scheduling, logistics, and customer delivery while developing a high-performing leadership team and driving continuous improvement across the business.

We're looking for a hands-on operational leader who enjoys building strong teams, improving processes, and delivering outstanding customer outcomes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

**About the Role**

Reporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, safety, and customer commitments are consistently achieved.

You'll play a key role in developing frontline leaders, improving operational performance, and creating a culture focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

**Key Responsibilities**

-   Lead the day-to-day operations of a busy steel manufacturing facility
-   Develop and mentor supervisors and team leaders to build leadership capability
-   Oversee production planning and scheduling to ensure customer deadlines are achieved
-   Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives
-   Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture across all departments
-   Manage manufacturing, dispatch, and warehouse operations to maximise performance
-   Monitor production KPIs and implement improvement strategies
-   Work closely with sales, customer service, and supply chain teams to optimise workflow
-   Manage labour planning and resource allocation to meet changing business demands
-   Ensure high standards of product quality, customer service, and operational excellence
-   Contribute to business planning, budgeting, and overall site performance

**About You**

-   Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, or similar leadership role
-   Strong production scheduling and operational planning experience
-   Demonstrated success developing supervisors, team leaders, and high-performing teams
-   Strong commercial acumen with experience managing KPIs and operational performance
-   Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
-   A hands-on leadership style with a focus on coaching and accountability
-   Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement
-   Passion for building a positive, safe, and engaged workplace culture
