Metroll is seeking a motivated, reliable and customer-focused Trades Counter Assistant to join our team at Smithfield.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and sales support to trade customers, builders, contractors and walk-in customers. You will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring customer enquiries, orders and transactions are handled efficiently and professionally.

Your responsibilities will include:

-   Welcoming customers and responding to counter, telephone and email enquiries.
-   Identifying customer needs and providing appropriate product information and solutions.
-   Preparing quotations, processing sales orders and handling customer transactions.
-   Assisting customers with product availability, pricing and order enquiries.
-   Coordinating customer orders with internal sales and warehouse teams to ensure timely collection and delivery.
-   Maintaining accurate customer records, sales documentation and order information.
-   Following up on customer enquiries, quotations and outstanding orders.
-   Maintaining a clean, organised and professional trade counter and showroom environment.

**About You**

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

-   Previous experience in customer service, retail, sales support or a trade counter environment.
-   Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
-   A proactive, friendly and customer-focused approach.
-   The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a busy environment.
-   Strong organisational, administration and problem-solving skills.
-   Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
-   A willingness to learn, take initiative and work collaboratively as part of a team.
-   **A current forklift license**
