# Master Craftsman Sheet Metal Technician

## Description

-   Must be self-starter, detail-oriented and organized

-   Must be able to accept and follow directions
-   Working knowledge of general manufacturing/fabrication processes
-   Manufacture, assemble, install and re-work various aircraft structural components unsupervised
-   Familiar with the installation of various aerospace fasteners, rivets, nut plates etc.​
-   Ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, blueprints and engineering drawings
-   Maintain shop supplies and perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment
-   Operate complicated shop tools and equipment as trained and assigned
-   Use of precision measuring devices such as calipers, height, depth, dial, and screw pitch gauges
-   Perform inventory control using logging, tagging, and organizing procedures
-   Maintain tool control and accountability
-   Adhere to company policies and safety programs
-   Other duties as assigned

## Requirements

**Education/Training:**

-   High School diploma or equivalent required
-   Associate’s Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline preferred  
    

**Experience:**

-   10+ years of professional experience in the required task area required

**Security:**

-   Must be a US citizen
-   Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

**Physical Requirements:**

-   Able to assess, install, and modify equipment, and inspect machinery
-   Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls
-   Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements
-   Prolonged periods of standing while operating machinery
-   Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, etc.) for the assigned task
-   Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time

**Salary:** 

The projected salary range for this position is $60,000-85,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
