## Description

The Engineering Manager leads engineering resources and technical activities within a **precision machining environment**, supporting both existing production and new product introduction.

This role provides technical leadership across **CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, process development, tooling/fixturing, and production support**. The Engineering Manager works closely with operations, quality, programming, and customers to ensure complex machined components can be produced safely, efficiently, and consistently to specification.

**Responsibilities:**

-   Directs department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures. 
-   Resolves problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts. 
-   Analyzes technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects. 
-   Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products. 
-   Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests. 
-   Advanced skills with Mastercam, Gibbs Cam, Espree or other CAM software, and CNC machine programming, setup, and operations.
-   Ability to machine parts to specification of .1mm to .0005mm tolerances working from CAD files, mechanical drawings, and sketches
-   Ability to read, understand, and create technical mechanical drawings, sectional views, part notes, dimensions, and tolerances
-   Expertise calculating/estimating machine cycle times, determining cost effective operation sequences, machinability, and feasibility

## Requirements

-   7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, machining, or a related precision manufacturing environment.
-   3+ years of engineering leadership or people-management experience.
-   Strong understanding of CNC machining, manufacturing processes, tooling, fixturing, and process development.
-   Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume and/or tight-tolerance machined components.
-   Proven ability to lead new product introduction (NPI), first article, prototype, and production-launch activities.
-   Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturability.
-   Experience troubleshooting machining and production issues using root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods.
-   Ability to work cross-functionally with CNC programmers, machinists, quality, operations, customers, and suppliers.
-   Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams while managing multiple priorities.
-   Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience may be considered.
