We’re hiring an experienced **CNC Lathe Programmer** for a high-end precision manufacturer producing **specialty, tight-tolerance components for aerospace and defense programs**.

A major part of this position is **NPI and new job development**. You won't spend your day maintaining the same production programs. You'll regularly be handed new, challenging parts and have the freedom to determine **how they should actually be machined**.

**What You'll Own:**

You'll develop CNC lathe programs in **Mastercam** and determine the best way to manufacture new components from the ground up.

That includes:

-   Programming complex CNC turning operations
-   Developing machining strategies from **CAD models and prints**
-   Selecting tooling, inserts, speeds, and feeds
-   Developing workholding and setup strategies
-   Programming OD/ID turning, boring, threading, grooving, drilling, and other complex features
-   Supporting setups and **hands-on program prove-outs**
-   Working through first articles and dimensional issues
-   Troubleshooting tooling, workholding, and machining problems
-   Optimizing programs for **cycle time, tool life, quality, and process stability**

## Requirements

We're looking for someone who has actually **built CNC lathe programs from scratch** and understands machining beyond the CAM software.

Strong candidates will have:

-   CNC lathe/turning programming experience
-   **Mastercam** programming experience
-   Experience with **NPI or new job development**
-   Strong knowledge of tooling, workholding, speeds, and feeds
-   Strong blueprint and **GD&T** knowledge
-   Experience with **tight-tolerance precision machining**
-   Ability to support programs through setup, prove-out, and first article

Experience in **aerospace, defense, medical, or other high-precision machining environments** is highly valued.
