The successful candidate will be responsible to teach Foods classes to students in grades 6 to 8, with the possibility of other options being added. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in supporting students, have an unwavering belief that every child is a capable learner and will: - Have a degree in CTS (Foods) (preferred); - Have previous experience teaching Foods classes at the middle or high school level (preferred); - Be committed to strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills; - Have the ability to offer engaging, innovative lessons, and to differentiate to meet the needs and styles of all learners; - Have the ability to develop a genuine relationship with students and a willingness to connect with families; - Possess a willingness to contribute to take an active part in committees, the school community, and school initiatives; - Have previous experience teaching Options at the Middle School level (considered an asset). ## Requirements - Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate. **Conditions of Employment** In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide: - A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions. - A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services. - Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card.
