The successful candidate will be expected to support students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 as a Learning Support Teacher and work as a Grade 5 Teacher supporting students in English Language Arts and Literature, Bible and PEW. Candidates will have a passion for supporting students in learning, be enthusiastic, flexible, and an energetic team player who has the following: - Previous experience teaching in an elementary school (considered an asset); - A commitment to strong collaboration, communication and teamwork skills; - Previous experience as a Learning Support Teacher (considered an asset); - Sound understanding of Inclusive Education practices; - An understanding of literacy and numeracy interventions; - The ability to develop a genuine relationship with students and a willingness to connect with families; - Strong organizational and collaboration skills; - Successful response to intervention (RTI) experience; - Has successfully worked with families and teachers to support and implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and behaviour support plans (BSP's) for students with complex learning and physical needs (preferred); - An understanding of Christian Education; - The ability to integrate the school's Christian mission and vision within the subject materials. ## Requirements - Applicants must posses or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate. - Applicants are required to submit a philosophy of Christian Education as part of their application. - Applicants must provide one reference for their current pastor. **Conditions of Employment** In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School Division who are offered employment must provide: - A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions. - A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services. - Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card.
