Position Summary:

The Group Facilitator is responsible for delivering structured, curriculum-based group sessions to individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders in an outpatient Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This role supports the clinical team by facilitating psychoeducational and recovery-focused groups, reinforcing treatment goals, and promoting client engagement in the recovery process.

The Group Facilitator operates under the supervision of the Clinical Director and within the guidelines of the clinical program.

**Core Responsibilities:**

-    Facilitate structured group sessions using an established curriculum, including:
-   Psychoeducation
-   Relapse prevention
-   Life skills development
-   Recovery support topics
-   Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging group environment
-   Encourage participation and support positive group dynamics
-   Reinforce treatment plan goals through group content and discussion
-   Document group sessions accurately and in a timely manner
-   Communicate relevant client concerns to clinical staff
-   Assist with client engagement and retention in programming
-   Participate in team meetings and ongoing training
-   Support community-based outreach activities as needed.

**Scope of Role:**

-   Provides supportive and structured group facilitation only
-   Does not provide individual therapy, diagnosis, or clinical decision-making
-   Works under supervision of licensed clinical staff.

## Requirements

**Qualifications**

-    Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or a related behavioral health field
-   Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, or related field preferred
-   Experience working with rural or underserved populations preferred
-   Basic knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery principles
-   Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) preferred
-   Understanding of evidence-based practices, including:
-   Motivational Interviewing
-   Cognitive Behavioral Therapy concepts
-   Relapse Prevention strategies
-   Trauma-Informed Care principles.

-   Ability to pass background check and drug screening
-   Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
