LOCKROSE is looking for experienced Senior Planners to support the delivery of major transmission and distribution projects across the UK.

This role is suited to planners with a strong understanding of the UK energy sector and a proven track record of developing, managing and analysing project programmes on complex infrastructure projects. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience across substations, overhead lines and high-voltage cable projects.

**About LOCKROSE**

LOCKROSE provides specialist project delivery, programme management and commercial services to the UK energy sector. Our team supports some of the industry's most significant transmission and distribution projects, helping clients deliver the infrastructure required for a secure, reliable and low-carbon energy system.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for experienced planners who can provide programme leadership, challenge delivery assumptions and help clients make informed decisions throughout the project lifecycle.

**The Role**

You will play a key role in planning and controlling major transmission and/or distribution projects from development and pre-construction through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

Working closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams and contractors, you will develop and maintain robust project programmes, identify delivery risks and opportunities, and provide the insight needed to keep projects on track.

This role goes beyond maintaining schedules. We are looking for individuals who can understand how projects are delivered, challenge project teams where necessary, and provide clients with confidence in programme performance and forecast outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Develop, maintain and manage detailed project schedules across the full project lifecycle.
- Build and maintain logic-linked programmes that accurately reflect project scope, delivery strategy and key constraints.
- Monitor project progress and analyse programme performance against baseline schedules.
- Identify and communicate critical path activities, programme risks and potential delays.
- Support the management of outages, access requirements, long-lead equipment and major project interfaces.
- Work closely with project teams, contractors and suppliers to gather progress information and validate programme assumptions.
- Assess the programme impact of change, risk events and recovery strategies.
- Produce programme reports, dashboards and schedule analysis to support project decision-making.
- Support project controls activities including forecasting, earned value analysis and performance reporting where required.
- Contribute to planning standards, best practice and lessons learned across projects and programmes.

## Requirements

**Essential Experience & Capabilities**

- A minimum of five years' experience working within the UK energy sector. Your application must clearly show the UK energy projects you have worked on and the dates of that experience.
- Proven experience developing and managing programmes for transmission and/or distribution projects.
- Demonstrable experience across high-voltage cable, overhead line and/or substation projects.
- Advanced Primavera P6 experience, including schedule development, critical path analysis and progress reporting.
- Strong understanding of project controls principles and programme management processes.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors and client organisations.
- Ability to translate technical and construction information into realistic and deliverable project programmes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly communicate programme risks and opportunities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to travel to project locations.

**Experience and Qualifications We Would Value**

- Experience supporting projects up to 400kV within operational network environments.
- Experience working under NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.
- A degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Controls or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- APM PMQ, Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or equivalent qualification.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution.
- Experience using Power BI and programme reporting tools.
