## Description

**LOCKROSE** is seeking an experienced and driven **Senior Planner** to support the successful delivery of major **Transmission & Distribution (T&D)** projects across the energy sector.

This is a pivotal role focused on the **strategic planning, coordination, and performance monitoring** of complex infrastructure programmes, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-efficient delivery. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and project management to develop and maintain integrated project schedules aligned with both operational and commercial objectives.

The successful candidate will play a key role in **risk identification, schedule assurance, and performance forecasting**, while promoting planning best practice throughout the project lifecycle.

**Key Responsibilities**

·       Develop, manage, and maintain detailed **NEC-compliant integrated project schedules** for Transmission & Distribution projects

·       Produce and maintain programmes aligned with **NEC Clause 31 and Clause 32 requirements**, ensuring acceptance criteria are met

·       Coordinate planning activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and project controls teams

·       Monitor project performance and update schedules to reflect changes in **scope, resources, productivity, constraints, and project risks**

·       Analyse project data to identify **critical path impacts, potential delays, and emerging schedule risks**, recommending corrective and recovery actions

·       Undertake **Time Impact Analysis (TIA)** and other delay analysis techniques to assess the effects of compensation events, variations, and unforeseen issues on completion dates and key milestones

·       Assess and support the management of **Compensation Events (CEs)**, including evaluation of programme impacts, entitlement, and schedule implications in accordance with NEC contracts

·       Ensure compliance with **NEC contract processes**, including early warnings, compensation events, programme submissions, and contractual reporting obligations

·       Manage and review **Early Warning Notices (EWNs)**, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, and incorporated into programme updates

·       Apply **Earned Value Management (EVM)** techniques to measure and track project performance (e.g. SV, CV, SPI, CPI)

·       Provide clear **project controls insight** to Project Managers by highlighting variances, forecast trends, and performance risks

·       Support effective **resource planning and workflow optimisation**

·       Prepare and present **progress reports, schedule updates, and planning analysis** to stakeholders and senior leadership

Drive **continuous improvement** in planning processes and project controls methodologies

## Requirements

**Essential:**

-   Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline
-   Minimum 7+ years’ experience in project planning within the Transmission & Distribution sector
-   Strong understanding of T&D infrastructure, delivery models, and regulatory frameworks
-   Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
-   Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
-   Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder project schedules
-   Strong communication and presentation skills
-   Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
-   Strong working knowledge of **NEC contracts (particularly NEC3/NEC4)**
-   Experience in **delay analysis techniques (e.g. TIA)** and programme impact assessment

**Desirable:**

-   Broader experience across the Energy or Utilities sector
-   Knowledge of project controls, risk management, and reporting frameworks (e.g. EVM)
-   Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure or utility programmes
-   Experience applying **Earned Value Management (EVM)** in live projects

-   Experience supporting **commercial teams with claims and entitlement assessment**
