Loom Strategy Centre is the first flagship initiative of Loom Foundation. It convenes thinkers, leaders, and practitioners from diverse fields and from across the political spectrum to identify shared direction on climate, security and economic priorities. The Centre deploys bespoke expert teams to produce research, policy communications, and promote strategic coalitions along four guiding principles: political realism, fresh thinking, integrated approach, and agile delivery. **This role** The Head of Public Affairs will lead Loom's political engagement across Europe, shaping how the organisation engages with political stakeholders, traditional media, and public audiences. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on relationship-building — developing networks across political and traditional media landscapes, advising project teams on framing and timing, and acting as a spokesperson where needed. The postholder will oversee polling initiatives, manage a portfolio of consultants and partners, and drive Loom's presence in high-impact outlets. This is a senior, outward-facing role for someone who understands European politics, moves comfortably across ideological contexts, and can translate policy work into political traction. The Head of Public Affairs forms part of Loom’s Editorial Team – alongside the Executive Director, the Digital Communications Manager and the Programmes & Operations Lead. The Editorial Team oversees the strategy and planning of Loom’s public-facing work across different projects. **Responsibilities** **A. Political Engagement Strategy** - Develop and lead Loom's political engagement strategy, identifying key political stakeholders, audiences, moments, and channels for engagement. - Participate in Loom's strategic planning processes, bringing an external perspective on the political and communications environment. - Identify, map, and prioritise political stakeholders relevant to Loom's institutional agenda and cultivate those relationships directly and with the support from consultants and partners. - Identify opportunities for new projects or workstreams arising from political developments and trends. - Contribute to the design of new projects, ensuring communications and political strategy considerations are embedded from the outset. **B. Project Support** - Build an actionable network of Senior Fellows/consultants and partners able to advise and facilitate political engagement across Europe, particularly in conservative and anti-establishment circles. - Oversee public opinion polling initiatives to support Loom’s projects and political engagement, commissioning, interpreting, and deploying findings strategically. - Advise Programme Directors on framing and output strategy to maximise political and media impact; support offline dissemination to policy audiences, in close collaboration with the Digital Communications Manager. **C.
